Comfortable Stay in Omaha

Posted Jun 25, 2014
Pros: Clean and affordable
Cons: Contain the air from the lounge.Could detect cigarette smell at times.
Location: Was close to several major streets in Omaha.Close to a large shopping mall.Omaha has a wonderful zoo and of course, the baseball stadium is first rate.
Red Carpet Inn was clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. We stayed here during the College World Series. This motel is also pet friendly.Brochures about Omaha and sites, etc. we're readily available.

Pros: Hardees is right next door.
Cons: Have someone at the check in desk all the time.
Location: Hardees is right next door.
No one was at desk when I arrived. There was only a note saying to call a particular number if no one showed up soon. After waiting about 10 minutes, I called the number. No one answered my call, but a guy in a back office called out to someone else. This other person did show up a few minutes later. Makes me concerned about the overall security of the hotel. Worst thing was the bed was extremely hard. Also, the noise from the footsteps of other visitors above us was extremely noticeable. Another problem was everything offered for breakfast had carbs--no good choices for diabetics. No decaf coffee offered in rooms, at desk, or on the breakfast bar.

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Better front desk help, cleaner rooms, new air conditioners
Very poor front desk help, dirty hotel, loud air conditioners, not worth the $60 I paid.

Not terrible, but not nice by any means

Posted May 23, 2011
Probably an acceptable place for long haul truckers, who seemed to be the majority of the clients, but not a great hotel by any means. It was cheap, but even at that price, there are many better places nearby. First, cleanliness was a big issue. They do not clean behind the bathroom doors. There was a line of filth sticking out 3 inches from the wall all around the room. The continental breakfast was terrible and the space for it was tiny. How tiny you may ask? Well, there were a grand total of 2 other people in the breakfast area and we couldn't get anywhere near the limited food. One of the guys there was talking to the staff about getting a ride somewhere. The night before, he had been told that he could get a ride somewhere from the owner without waiting a long time. This morning, he was being informed that he would need to wait a minimum of 2 hours for the ride. His head was about to explode, and he and the staff person were having a very heated discussion. We wanted to get out of there so we just grabbed a cup of coffee and lids. As we walked out, we discovered that the lids did not fit the cups. We went back in to discover those were the only lids and the only cups in the place. The entire place smelled like a mixture of glade air freshener ans smoke, the hallways, the lobby, and the rooms.
