The fans cool it off in the night fairly quickly, but it can get pretty hot in the day without an AC. Great communication from the owner leading up to the trip."

"Good location to take advantage of the Hilo area and the east side of the Big Island. Very clean and safe. Beautiful home. Had just about everything we needed during our stay. We would stay here again, book with confidence. Left us a nice welcome package and included a dozen fresh eggs. Very much appreciated. One little thing, there is a gas grill, but if you use it there is an additional cleaning fee. That should have been disclosed in the property description."

"What a delightful stay we had in our beautifully appointed clean as a whistle VRBO on the Hamakua coast of the big island. It had absolutely everything one would need and then some (thoughtful sleep masks). Large refrigerator, washer and dryer, extremely well equipped. The fresh fruit and fresh eggs in the fridge was just a great touch. All this and the adorable unobtrusive little pets and chickens made this a perfect stay Big Mahalo to Dan and Mollie, great hosts"

"The owners are very friendly, we let them know when we were coming and they greeted us when we arrived to walk through the property. In the morning we were greeted with spectacular views of Hilo and fresh bananas from the garden. This property is great for eco-conscious visitors, as the owners make great efforts to reduce their impact on the environment and teach visitors about their efforts as well. A few things to note: despite being about 3 miles outside of Hilo, it takes a solid 10-15...

"We stayed here during the middle part of our Hawaii travel. It provided us with a nice base to visit Volcano Park as well as Mauna Kea. The kitchen was stocked with lots of food and water which we appreciated. We ended up cooking our own dinner during the stay. Having A/C is also a huge plus! Overall, we enjoyed our stay a lot."
