Best Hotel in Khao Lak

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: The staff is first rate, the amenities are fantastic, the breakfast is wonderful, and the rooms are spacious.
Cons: Nothing
Location: The drinks are a bit expensive--as you would expect from a self contained resort. However, within a two minute walk from the lobby is a 7-11 store.
Spent three nights there in July 2014. It is one of the major resorts in Khao Lak and has its own stretch of beach. It boasts a serpentine pool that is over three kilometers long. It is great for families or anyone who wants to get away and relax. This place is not really suited to the partying crowd.

Quiet, family friendly hotel on the beach.

Posted Apr 15, 2014
A wonderful place to relax with the family. The swimming pool is amazing - we had pool access rooms which were great for our children. Staff very welcoming, we had a couple of issues with our rooms not being what was requested on arrival but they ensured this was rectified the next day. Food was great - breakfast was the highlight of the day for the kids! Would definitely return.

Too many conference delegates staying

Posted Mar 23, 2014
Pros: Location and nearby lovely beach side restaurants Nice spa. Local Thai staff
Cons: More management presence to ensure peace is maintained as non conference guests try to enjoy quiet and tranquillity Removal of volley ball court
Location: it is usually a quiet location ideal for unwinding with good choice of simple restaurants, massages and swimming in the sea at this time of the year (
We spent 9 days at this hotel expecting a quiet relaxing stay Unfortunately they had a conference with around 200 delegates which overpowered the resort with noise and an unfair allocation of attention from staff. Tables for outside dining were set up in middle of day so delegates could dine in the evening This was noisy. Delegates played volley ball in middle of loungers which was very very noisy Managers not around to sort these things out Local Thai staff lovely but managers invisible. Very disappointing

Best pool ever, incredibly beautiful setting

Posted Mar 6, 2014
JW Marriott has the best pool we have ever seen in a hotel. The room (deluxe room pool access) was big, quite new and stylish interior with a large washroom/shower/bathtub. We had direct pool access only a few steps from our veranda. There are three restaurants (Thai, Japanese, Italian) and all serve excellent food, although rather pricey but definitely worth the money. We enjoyed the super friendly staff and the stunning nature with tropical flowers and plants everywhere. We will surely return to this hotel. It was one of our best experience so far.

Absolute Paradise

Posted Mar 4, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, lovely room, beautiful grounds and pools Good food
Cons: Nightlife Lighting of outside public areas
Location: It is a good hour's journey from Phuket airport. We did not find a lot that we wanted to do outside of the resort but this was not a problem
We have just spent six nights here after a busy few days sightseeing in Hong Kong. We had a pool access room and the view from our room when we drew back the curtains in the mornings can only be described as "paradise". - a long winding swimming pool which circulates around the property and beautifully kept gardens, all bathed in sunshine. There were plenty of sun beds available and the beach was stunning. The staff in the hotel are delightful and cannot do enough to help you. The breakfast buffet was the best that we have ever experienced, including a smoothie counter where you can watch your fresh smoothie being prepared. We ate in Olive, Tai Krai and Sakura restaurants. The food was very good in all of them but the atmosphere in Olive was the best as there was a live jazz band playing. We would have preferred a little more entertainment in the evenings but this did not in any way spoil our stay. Our only criticism was that we would have liked a bit more lighting on the outside steps leading to the main reception building as these areas were rather dark at night. We would love to go back to this hotel again.

fantastic service,comfort and location

Probably the best overall hotel experience we have had. We asked for a room on the top floor (for the views) and were rewarded with a great panorama of the complex, in Siamese style, set in wonderful gardens and waterways. The bed was really comfortable and the breakfast was just fantastic. The staff were always very attentive and smiling, obviously loving their job. highly recommended.

Amazing Resort, Beautiful Grounds, Will Return

Posted Dec 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
When we first walked through the hotel lobby we were in complete awe! The common ground areas were absolutely gorgeous and lush. Stepping outside and seeing the snake-like pool wrapped around the hotel was amazing. This hotel is well-maintained, filled with helpful and welcoming staff, and just a dream to stay in. The breakfast selection is gigantic and diverse. It has so many options that just a few items will fill you up. Plus you can see on the patio and listen to the ocean waves. The room is clean, modern, and has all you need. We stayed in their standard room and the bedding was plush, the d├ęcor was modern, and the amenities were fantastic. The bathroom has a shower and tub and surrounded by granite. The room was beautiful, warm, and inviting. It has a mini fridge, balcony, bath robes, ironing bird, a mini couch, and much more! The only negative is that the location is pretty isolated from the town in Khao Lak. If you're looking to do some souvenir shopping or want to eat in town, you're probably looking at a 10-15 minute cab ride. Overall, we love this hotel which a perfect place for couples, family, and friends. It is also on the beach where you can walk to four nearby restaurants.
