Wonderful location
Corto Maltes has an unbeatable location on the beach and is close to everything. Rooms are well equipped, clean and very spacious. Sand toys were thoughtfully left in closet for guest use. Friendly staff, especially the onsite manager, who was a great help when safe wouldn't open due to low battery. The security guard got us a cart to offload our groceries from the taxi, so we could easily bring up in elevator- super nice! A few things to note about this property: there is live music downstairs all day and into the night, which we really enjoyed, but may bother quieter guests. Also the dive excursions load their tanks onboard boats in front of this hotel, often dragging them on the concrete in the early morning, so be aware if you are a light/ late sleeper. We had to purchase our own face/washcloths, as there weren't any in either bathroom (left them when we checked out.) The pool is next door at El Faro: has nice lounge chairs, massage available poolside, and great shallow kiddie pool. We thought with serving both hotels it would be too crowded, but it wasn't at all in November. Zensi is the downstairs bar/restaurant which had decent food and drinks,with the best tables right in the sand under the palms. All in all though, our family had a great time here and would return-- highly recommend!

Hello , Corto Maltes does have a great location as it is on the beach just one block away from 5th ave. I am glad you enjoyed the amenities in the condo as well as at El Faro. We had to take the wash clothes out as many of our guests used it to remove their make up and this then caused many to be thrown away as they would just be stained. It was a huge loss on the company so we had to take them off. Sorry if this caused a bit of an inconvenience. Overall I am glad you enjoyed your stay and we will be happy to have you back !

Room 201 is very nice.
The room was very clean and nice. Good view from the balcony. The pool next door was ok but to warm. The big problem was the code for our room was wrong. We were stuck outside in the heat for 1 1/2 hours trying to get in. After traveling all day that was not good. You can forget about all the emergency numbers and emails they give you. I called and emailed every one. NOT ONE REPLY!! We got ahold of the security guard, he was finally able to get a hold of someone that could help us get in. The other problem is we are backed up to a club that's plays music every night.

Great Location but Needs a little work
My family and I stayed here for 2 nights at the end of our vacation. The location is in the center of downtown Playa del Carmen which is great. Plenty of shopping, restaurants and little boutiques within walking distance. One downside to this specific place is that there is a bar on the fist floor. One of the nights the music was pretty loud until about 1am. The room itself (Condo 105) has a great oceanfront view. Very spacious with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Although the condo was clean, it felt a little dirty because there were some stains on the curtains, cushions and chairs. Nothing crazy but the fact that you see it makes you feel like the place is a little dirty. If they clean those little things up a bit, it would make the whole place feel a little cleaner.

PERFECT LOCATION
We were upgraded to room 105, because the refrigerator wasn't working, it couldn't of been a more beautiful big 2 bedroom 2 bath condo, with views of the ocean.

Large condo right in the heart of town
Condo was as pictured on the website. It was very clean. Condo managers responded immediately to issues that we had (couldn't figure out how to use the tv) and sent someone over within the hour. Although the noise didn't bother us at all, there is a lot of noise in the early morning cause by the nearby dive company loading tanks, and the nightclub alongside the condo rocked until 5 am some nights. Our condo was the closest to these businesses though. Again, that didn't cause us to lose sleep. Security was great and we never felt worried. The attached restaurant has great food.

Relaxing stay
I asked for an ocean front room but did not get it. Found out later the ocean front rooms are more noisy. The location is great for clubs, shopping, eating. This place is hard to find at night and no one knows where it's at. You should bring a map. My washer and dryer ended up not working so bring extra clothes. They let me use another washer in another unit but it was a hassle. We stayed in 201 and it had three bedrooms which was awesome. The twin beds ended up being to hard for my kids but fine for my husband.This unit also had a microwave, blender, toaster, and coffee pot. Also had a great bar downstairs. Definitely would stay here again.

Nice condo with beach front
We had a great experience, it was situated in front on the beach and steps from the 5th Ave which is a pedestrian street. Lots of things at walking distance. The only downside for us was that it doesn't have a pool on the premises, but you can use the pool from El Faro, the condo right next door. That pool is not the greatest thing but it's clean and keeps you cool. Corto doesn't offer full hotel service because it's a condo but your room gets cleaned every 3 days and you can save some money doing some grocery shopping. Kitchen was fully equipped and was very big, so were the 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms! Overall it was great for a big family.

Amazing condo on the beach!
This is NOTa hotel, but rather a condo! We had an amazing 3 bedroom condo that was very comfortable and gorgeous! If you are hoping for a hotel experience this is not for you. However if you want the freedoms and comforts of your own condo, book now!! Just make sure to get the room door code and condo number before you leave. (Corto Maltes expected us to have this info when we arrived) Expedia did not give us this info. We got very lucky with a nice lady who made a phone call and got us into our condo! The location can't be beat... beach, restaurants and shopping all out your door! We will definitely be back some day!! It was the best stay we've ever had in Mexico!

Nice enough to go back
Our rooms were on the first floor and overlooked the beach. Below us was the restaurant with a band. However, it was quiet when you had the doors closed. If we go back to Mexico I would like to stay there again. The only negative part was that there was no one in the office past 5:30pm. We had a great time.

Perfect place for a family
Right on Playa del Carmen, and a block way from 5th avenue. We traveled with our three children, ages 14, 10, and 8. We bought easy lunch meats and breakfast stuff at Mega which was 7 blocks away. Then we would eat dinner at one of the restaurants in 5th avenue. The kitchen had all the cookware we needed. The beach was right in front of the hotel. Kids had fun riding the waves with a boogie board. We also has access to the large swimming pool at next door El Faro. This is complementary with the Corto Maltes stay. We had stayed last time at El Taj which is two blocks away and also a nice condo rental, but the beach in front of that hotel had about 5 to 6 boats in front and no beach to play. Same problem with Porto Real. We packed only for 5 days even though we stayed for 10, since they have a washer/dryer in the condo. The rooms were quiet, no loud noise from 5th avenue discos. The Sensi restaurant on the beachfront was also awesome, with affordable yummy food and live music. The only thing I would suggest was a small gym with treadmills, elliptical, some weights. This is a good hotel for families who want to stroll on the beach, still on 5 th avenue, without needing to take a taxi from a resort. My kids are a little picky we food so we were able to buy stuff from the Mega mart and make them in the condo. They also have 24 hr security guard. Will definitely come back and is highly recommended.

WHEN WE CHECK IN AT THE HOTEL THEY GAVE US DIFFERENT CONDO, THE PROMISE THE CORTO MALTES 101, AND THEY END UP GIVING US 202 WITH NO INTERNET AND NO MICROWAVE, THAT IS THE ONLY REASON WE CHOOSE THE 101. WE ASKED THE LADY FOR THE INTERNET AT THE ROOM AND SAID TO US THAT ROOM DIDN'T HAVE INTERNET SHE CAN ONLY GIVE ME THE OFFICE INTERNET, WE TRAVELED WITH KIDS AND HAVE SOME FOODS WE CAN USE THE MICROWAVE AND WE COULD'T. I HAVE TO SAY MR. ORLANDO AND THE OTHER SECURITY MAN VERY NICE PERSONS AND ALWAYS HELP US. THE LADY WE DID THE CHECK OUT WAS VERY NICE TOO.

We ended up staying in two different units, since we had made different reservations for our 3 days there. This is not a hotel, it's more of condo vacation rental. The unit facing the ocean has fabulous views. The other unit we stayed in, was further back with a partial view of the water. It's possible to hear quite a bit of noise from the nearby bars from the back units at night. Not the best place to be if you're a light sleeper. However, it's only par for the course in that part of Playa del Carmen. The condo's themselves are well equipped and comfortable. Everything was spotless. The location is great, right of 5th, which is where all the usual tourist centered establishments are. The staff did a very good job in making sure that everything was taken care of. We noticed that the hot-tubs were not working, but we didn't follow-up with the staff, it may have been a minor issue.

Wonderful location
We are a family of 5,we stayed for 7 days the week of Christmas , the apartment was 105 with a ocean front view,it was big ,had everything you need, the view was perfect, you can not find a better location, we've been to playa many times and this has been the best, many places to eat, shopping at fifth avenue 1- block away, walked to ferry terminal to visit Cozumel,walked to bus to visit cancun and Isla mujeres,the security guy and rental people very nice and professional, used el Faro facilities right beside.thanks for a unforgettable time.

Location as close to beach as you can get. The 2 bedroom condo we stayed in was very nice. The lanai was overlooking the beach and ocean. The condo had all amenities needed for a nice stay. We were very happy with our choice.The only negative was we needed a rollaway bed for a fifth guest, and the rollaway bed was in adequate. Our guest ended up and slept on the couch.

Condo complex on the beach in downtown PDC
We enjoyed this condo, super spacious 2 bedrooms, living room, kitchen with full size fridge, dishwasher, over, stove, microwave, dinning room, 3 televisions and AC in all of the bedrooms and living room. Small complex only 11 units, plenty of privacy and you were not bothered. This condo included a washing machine with drying capability so we brought clean clothes on our way back!! No room service, although they state that they will come every other day to clean. The room has a broom and cleaning supplies.. so we swept the floor.. (sand accumulates from the visits to the beach)

with a incredible beach front view from the room and near all the hotspots in playa.. there should be nowhere else to stay! only bad thing to say is that we were a party of six (and hotels.com advertised as occupancy max 6) but the condo only had two king size beds. they were very understanding and put extra beds right away with no hustle whatsoever.

What more could you ask for?
We had a fabulous stay at Corto Maltes 102. It was a beautiful space that and south of our condo past the ferry. We took 5 mile morning walks on the beach, enjoyed the nightly live music and dancing at Zenzi, dipping in the pool at El Faro (included in your reservation) and that isn't even mentioning we were half a block off Ave 5....the hub of Playa. That said, we found our masterbedroom very quiet, but the second one, not quite as much, but still we loved our stay and hope we can still afford it next time we come. It is a wonderful find! was furnished with upscale furniture and lovely art and the beds and linens were very comfortable. The staff was attentive and friendly. We walked to the grocery store and cooked in almost every night after amazing days at the beaches right outside our door, in Akumel, in Tulum

great condo. very spacious. right above a beautiful beachfront bar/restaurant. Great for an adult getaway, but noise might keep kids awake if they go to bed early. by 11pm it quiets down, even on the weekend. 1 block from 5th Ave shops and restaurants and 2 blocks from night clubs.

Tolles Appartment in sehr zentraler Lage, daher manchmal abends auch etwas lauter. Alles sauber und gut eingerichtet, direkt an der Quinta und direkt am Strand. Alles leicht zu Fuß erreichbar Definitiv weiter zu empfehlen.

Departamentos espaciosos
En general, los condominios son muy espaciosos y muy bien equipados. Incluye refrigerador, horno microondas, licuadora, cafetera con filtros, todos los utensilios en buen estado en caso de querer cocinar una cena completa. Los muebles parecen nuevos y muy bien cuidados, además de cómodos. Los baños y habitaciones son amplios y acogedores, el sistema de aire acondicionado moderno y funcional, además de ventiladores en cada habitación. Otro plus en comodidad es el internet inalámbrico en cada unidad con alta velocidad y televisión por cable. Definitivamente volvería a hospedarme en estos condominios. Lo único malo es que se deberá aclarar que la zona de club de playa pertenece al bar zensi en planta baja y se debe consumir para hacer uso de camastros, aunque por otro lado siendo huésped en los condominios, se puede hacer uso de alberca y camastros en el hotel El faro justo al lado.

Sentimos mucho que tuviste que esperar hasta las 6 de la tarde para entrar. Por lo general teneomos listo los condominios hasta el 5 de la trade. En esta caso se hiso la reserva muy tarde el Dominigo y por eso fue la demora. Gracias.
