Nightmare HotelPosted Jul 25, 2014
Pros: The beach was ok, but that's about it!!!
Cons: The whole area of the hotel, nothing was working properly. Complete disrepair!!!!
Location: Nothing, not even a place where you could get a decent meal.
First of all...the facilities needs over all repairs. No where to get a decent meal. The towels were full of holes. The staff did not cooperate when I needed supplies or assistance. I would not recommend this Hotel to my worst enemy. I had to stay for two nights because did not had any choice. I couldn't finish my vacation I had to leave after my second night. I had to pay double for my vacation because I couldn't get my money refunded.

Better off camping out at the beachPosted Jul 15, 2014
The photos make the place look better than it is. They have strict policies about refunds or changing your stay plans. My daughter got sick and I wanted to shorten my stay by one night but they refused to allow me to do so. I would have had to take a loss. Even seeing and hearing my daughter coughing the manager on staff claimed he had strict orders not to refund any nights booked and paid for. The place is not well kept. The carpet in the room is moldy and smells. The pillows were stained and the bathroom window pane was broken. Forget your electronics because you only get service and wifi in the lobby and only in certain areas of the lobby. The proximity to the public beach is excellent but I also observed beach goers simply go in and wash off at the "resort". It would be a great resort if updated and customer satisfaction became the priority.

It was not worth the money. Dirty rooms dirty bathroom. It's more like an abandoned hotel.

Worse hotel everPosted May 19, 2014
I don't know why they call it a beach resort. It's far from being a resort. It's not even close to being a motel. It has got to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. There is no beach. There was no hot water. Felt like I was at a homeless shelter.

The hotel that never wasPosted May 14, 2014
We showed up and realize the pictures were fake. The place looked abandoned. The property needs a total rehab.

Stay at Costa Dorada HotelPosted Mar 25, 2014
Pros: See above
Cons: Restaurant service, probably.
My daughter and I loved staying at Costa Dorada hotel. Its quiet and peaceful. The lushness of the vegetation that surrounds the hotel together with the ocean and beach scenery are a plus. No frills but clean, very nice accomodations. This is not a luxury hotel but highly recommended for a peaceful stay at the beach. That's all you need!

the Beach and the facilitiesPosted Mar 7, 2014
Pros: The quiet, the beauty of the landscape and the sound of the waves pounding the sand nearby; and the pool. The staff cleaned the room each day.
Cons: I think newer mattresses would be good.
Location: The location to the nearby restaurant by the beach, the fish market, and a corner of the bay where one could go swimming safely.
It is close to the beach which is lovely with big waves to look at (not to swim). We walked daily along the beach or the bike paths. The pool was lovely to swim and relax. A very peaceful place. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We upgraded to a studio which was better for our 12 day stay. The store is 12 min. walk and we took a $5 taxi back with all the food. There are small things which needed some fixing and that was done immediately (changing light bulbs, a coffee pot, and more pans). On the beach is a great fish restaurant and in the morning a place to buy fresh fish. We would fly to an airport closer than San Juan next time. Overall, we had a restful, pleasant and good time. We would go back. Speaking spanish is helpful out and around, but there is always someone nearby who speaks English.

empty hotelPosted Feb 6, 2014
This hotel was completely empty, awkward, odd. It was not comfortable nor did it feel very safe. If you have a choice, don't stay here.
