Soak it up!!

Posted Jul 24, 2015
Pros: Location…location…location – oh and the buffet & beverages…
Cons: The lady at the Mexican restaurant needs charm school (or maybe she’s from Long Island NY?); housekeeping has a curious parsimony towards replacing so
Location: Went to El Cuevo restaurant for lobsters, post-dinner shock – no credit cards! Screwed us on the exchange rate – lacking in upfront honesty.
Beautifully situated, great facilities. Our room was on the third floor of a building straddling Beach Resort & Palace. Stones throw from gorgeous coconut palm lined waters shaped in a crescent. From the 2nd day, the elevator broke down – so it became a walkup. Opt for the buffet (La Roca/ La Terraza). IF you go for the a la carte, prepare for mediocrity. People are friendly, except for that number receiving guests at the Mexican restaurant in the evenings – aloof, disinterested, discourteous, unsmiling robot with mascara. Enough activities going on, topped up by nightly parties. The bars serve up a mean caiparinha. Unsure on the point of the concierge, who only direct you into the maws of the Viva Club, who will regale you with 2 hours trying to sell exorbitantly priced timeshare program down your throat – really needs to go easy on the hardsell. Don’t expect much on the pay-extras (massage, pay restaurants, etc.). We took a couple of excursions through Expedia, to Santo Domingo (amazing), and Catalina (gorgeous). This is a great place to soak up the sun and unwind – you don’t have to buy the extras to feel good…

Beware of the room

Posted Jul 22, 2015
Everything was beautiful except for the room. The headboard and sheets were stained, the bathroom was filthy, and the shower only worked half I the time. They probably should have taken the money they were using to build new bungalows and used it to fix the rooms they already had. Also it would have been nice to be told about the entertainment while checking in. We had absolutely no idea what was available to us as guests.

Nice but could be better ....

Few choices for breakfast options. Restaurant are all over resort which is great but one place La Pizzeria which is open from 7pm to 7am which is good for a late night snack should offer a continental breakfast and coffee for those who don't want a large breakfast and want to walk all the way to the front of the resort. Also all the pools close at 6pm which is not fun on a hot sticky night.

Very nice resort

Posted Jul 6, 2015
Pros: I loved how clean it was and I loved how pleasant all the staff were!
Cons: I think as clean as they keep the resort, the beach could use some cleaning from time to time.
Location: We had everything we needed at the resort, shops, gym and boutiques.
The resort was very nice and clean. The staff was very courteous.

desastre la habitacion

Posted Jul 5, 2015

Picturesque, Perfect Vacation

Posted Jul 1, 2015
Pros: The staff, the food, and the view.
Cons: The rooms were typical of beach hotels. They were nothing amazing, but there was nothing gross or uncomfortable about them either.
Location: Many excursions were offered, however, we stayed at the resort and had plenty to do and see. The beach and water were amazing!
The resort was so much better than expected. Everyone treated us so well and was very helpful. My mother needs to be gluten free and the staff did everything they could to accommodate her. She was very pleased with her selections and the food was great. This is an excellent hotel if you are looking to spend a lot of time at the beach and enjoy being in the Dominican Republic sun.

Not clean bathroom. Not good beverage. Orange juice and the coca cola at the beverage machine give wather, not juice or coke. The room was too little. No parking space for client.

Pros: The beach is beautiful and the landscaping too.
Cons: rooms should have clocks.internet is terrible .Staff should learn some basic english.Check in reception should be more friendly to people from US.
Check in took us 1h and 10 min that is way too long.At the reception they speak english everybody else only spanish.Food was good especially at the restaurants.Sports acitivities are for extra charge. Some activities for kids.
