“A super expensive one star hotel”
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. This hotel is in a great location but it is not a 4.5 star hotel. It felt like a one star hotel. At check-in the room I originally requested through Expedia was not available. Therefore, I asked for an upgrade. This room was is a horrible shape. The carpet was super dirty and I did not want my feet to touch the carpet at all. The bed was not comfortable at all. The bathroom was the worst I have seen in terms of cleaness. The room's view was great but I did not enjoy the view, because I preferred not to stay in my nasty room. I complained and the receptionist did not change my room any more. Also, the pool was under construction.

Rooms are small and in need for refurnishment. Hotel service is really poor.

Hotel is in a great location (shopping and right across from the beach). The decor in the lobby and restaurant is modern, but our hotel room could use a little bit of an upgrade. Service was top notch and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly.
“Disappointed”
This hotel had many hidden fees as far as the telephone usage and did not allow guests to be brought back to the room even though my roomate and I paid a large amount of money to stay there. Its pretty sad to stay in one of the nicest hotels in rio and have to pay for another hotel to relieve oneself. Spent alot more than planned too. Disappointed customer.
“Great Place for Rio”
I found the hotel more of a 4 star than a 5 star, but considering you're travelling outside of the US it was very good. The staff was great, all spoke english and where very helpful and pleasant. The rooms were as expected large, and clean. But the beds where fulls, not queens, and the floors capeted. so it looked a bit old, but overall I highly recommend the hotel. Good gym area, with great views and nice sun deck as well.

The hotel lobby is nice and the restuarant is wonderful, food is exceptional. My room had a view of the ocean however it was drapped in netting due to rennovations. The bed was clearly in need of a new mattress, however the rest of the room was fine. My primary concern was my safety as I travelled alone, the hotel location was quite safe. When traveling out of the area the hotel provided transportation at a fee, much higher than a taxi. I would definitely suggest you stay in Impamea Beach over Copacabana, much more affluent area and is clearly much safer to walk around. Everyone was fluent in English and always willing to assist in everyway. Minnie Bar prices were high so I found a local market for snacks,etc. The beach is beautiful and well staffed by the hotel. Overall, a great place to stay, albeit pricey but for me it was worth every penny. I would definitely go back to this hotel and this area.
