“Great Place, love Playa del Carmen”

Hotel was great, rooms were beautiful. Centrally located on the beach then 2 blocks to loads of shops and restaurants. Beautiful beach, only drawback was all the boats docked in front of hotel but walk down 50 yards and great swimming.

“easy luxury in playa del carmen”

the el taj is a wonderful hotel with multiple properties including a first class gym, two outdoor pools and easy access to the beach (because the main property is on the beach with an adjacent one across the street. i would highly recommend this hotel for couples or families. the penthouse room are exquisite, but even the ground floor rooms are spacious, very comfortable with all sorts of amenities. it definitely lives up to the 5 star rating. the service throughout the complex is attentive, genuinely friendly and very helpful. a little tip: there is a quaint and wonderful restaurant in playa called Oh La La! it is run by a cool colombian/dutch/angolan couple serving excellent continental food with a home-style latin touch. excellent wines and great service.

“Can't wait to go back”

An amazing stay. I was initially concerned about the beach location having read reviews on other sites, but there was no access problem to the water because of boats. The hotel was beautiful with lush landscaping, the room was well appointed with the most comfortable bed and pillows.

“Great Experience at El Taj”

Just returned from a 4-night stay at El Taj Condo Oceanfront. We had a lovely 3-bedroom/2 bath accommodations (unit 350). The rooms were nicely furnished & the kitchen fully equipped. Unit included washer & dryer, flat screen TVs in all rooms and small balconies, all with a beach/oceanview. The A/C worked very well. Our rental also included a rooftop patio with hot tub, gas BBQ grill, sink, refrigerator and plenty of seating/eating space that could serve a fairly large party. Pools were clean and appealing & the beach & ocean access were well maintained & beautiful. A great location in town within 2 blocks of 5th Ave for shopping & dining, but still felt very private, quiet & secure. We received excellent assistance from concierge, Teresa, and from the front desk & housekeeping staff. Would recommend, but would suggest visiting at a different time of year. The heat in August was brutal & limited the time we spent enjoying all Playa has to offer.

“Didnt want to leave!!”

This place was great, we stayed in the half of the hotel that was right on the beach in RM323, it was clean, it had 3 A/C controls, 3 Tvs a safe and was great, especially the jacuzzi!! We had no complaints at all, no noise (except for the party boys above us on some nights) and the walk ways were washed and scrubbed very often. I suggest not wearing flipflops as they tended to slip a bit, go barefoot or wear other types of shoes. be sure to buy the breakfasts to be able to eat there in the Indigo restaurant, lots of fruit, breads and drinks, melon, pina, watermelon, hot chocolate. If you just want water, I suggest bringing a bottle from your room (to any restaurant in Playa for that matter, its cheaper). Be sure to have your own snorkel equipment so you can go out in the beach. Recommend you go towards dark spots where the seaweed/rocks are, there is more sea life there. be sure to shuffle your feet in the sand so you dont step on any stingrays (this is true on any beach). Amyways, I will go back to El Taj for sure and would highly recommend!!!!

“Wanna stay here again!”

I stayed El Taj Condo Hotel with my wife for 4 days. It is not like just resort hotel but also like own room. Very convenient and close to the main street, 5th ave. Easily find many kinds of restaurants and souvenier shops. Also easy to access Xcaret, Cozmel, Turum etc. I stayed Cancun also but I strongly recommend Playa del Carmen and El Taj Condo Hotel!! I will come back here again defenitely.

“Will Visit El Taj Again!”

El Taj was a fantastic condo hotel and could not be located in a more perfect part of Playa Del Carmen. You have access to 5th Avenue, but are still tucked away where you don't hear the noise from the clubs and restaurants. Everything is in walking distance! The hotel staff and service was amazing, we would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to others! We have stayed at other hotels in Playa and this is by far our favorite!

“Boutique / Luxury Hotel in an amazing location”

The place is perfect, the hotel consist in 2 buildings (fact that is not listed in expedia), both of them are equally pleasant and luxurious. Pools are amazing, the design of the place is so thoughtful and the landscaping just adds that extra feeling of being in a unique place where luxury and nature met to bring the best to every guest. This place is great for everyone, the beach is right in front of the building and within walking distance you can find a perfect spot away from the boats that park in front. The hotel is right by the 5th Avenue, one more plus, the only downside is the Indigo Club; for such a luxurious hotel I was expecting a top notch restaurant with amazing meals throughout the day; this was not the case, drinks and food was very average, and the complementary breakfast, just skip it all together, is not even worth your time. There are amazing places in the vicinity though, very affordable restaurants that also look as polished as the one at Indigo Club and where food is fantastic. I would repeat it all over, I would say is the place to stay in Playa del Carmen, and by the way... map the hotels that claim to be in Playa... most of them are very far from where the actual city is.

“Perfect Playa del Carmen experience!”

The hotel was wonderful, perfect location, rooms were very nice and comfortable, beautifully decorated. The hotel has it's own beach club which was awesome. You will be just a couple of blocks away from Fifth Ave where all the stores, clubs and restaurants are located. Highly recommended...we loved El Taj!
