Noisy motel close to nothing for a low price

Posted Aug 30, 2014
Pros: Rooms were clean. Hot water worked.
Cons: Staff training, noise levels, everything!
This was the only rooms available at time of booking. The front desk was non commital to the point of rudeness. The room while clean and a bit shabby but acceptable , came with hotel supplied ear plugs. We thought for traffic noise but it turned out to be useless against the all night door banging, multiple groups living in a room, party and screaming crowd. We did not sleep for the three nights we stayed and got out the minute we could book other accomadation at another hotel at the same price which turned out to be charming. Go to the Hotel Opal instead and avoid this motel.

NICE HOTEL IN DT sf

Posted Aug 14, 2014
Pros: The huge restroom in side the Disable friendly room
Cons: the bed, please upgrade them to more modern memory foam ones
Location: Shopping and food is all 5 min drive.
It was a nice Hotel in DT SF that is close to all the shopping center, room is neat and nice looking with a HUGE nice restroom. The bed is really old and is a spring mattress but over all the room is not bad. Bed sheets makes the room look very old but the remodeled restroom is really nice. They don't always pick up their phones and AAA discount is $10 dollars off your hotel stay.

South of Market - Dore Alley Weekend

Posted Jul 27, 2014
For a south of market motel, it's great. The Ronda are clean and comfortable and the club is close to all the Gay clubs.

Rooms rough; location rougher.

Posted Jul 25, 2014
Pros: It was not expensive.
Cons: Provide food and shelter for the 50 or so homeless people living in the four-square-block surrounding area.
Location: We went to a Hunan restaurant about two blocks away (only place that close). My Chinese wife raved over the authenticity, and I loved the place.
We had two rooms for four adults (and an infant). The rooms are small and a little musty/smoky smelling, even in the non-smoking rooms. One of the rooms was missing a bathroom door, removing all sense of privacy from any non-trivial bathroom act. The other had a nasty, collapsing couch with a thin cloth draped over it, reminiscent of retro adult movies I've never watched. The staff were nice and helpful. The location puts you on the fringe, with a lot of homeless people occupying the streets. We saw a fight break out about two blocks from the hotel...apparently over a beer. The price is low--be sure your expectations are not too high. If you simply need a place to sleep and you are traveling alone or as a couple it might be okay.

Pretty cheap...Guess you get what you pay for!

Posted Jul 2, 2014
The night receptionist was not very helpful, but seemed friendly enough. When I asked about WiFi, he told me that it was free but that he doesn't like to give it out to the customers because it makes his laptop slow. Then he was yelling at another customer about their parking. He also charged the room deposit ($100) to my debit card twice--so I had to wait for 2 days to be able to use my $200 he put on hold. The facilities were okay at best, but the bed was completely sunken and misshapen. The room was clean. No bathtub, though. There was a swimming pool, but didn't get to swim in it because we checked in at 9:30 when it closed. The hotel is located next to a busy street though, so lots of traffic noise all night.

Nice place

Great room for the price. Neighborhood not bad and there is free parking. Rooms a little tight but fine for just the two of us. Breakfast was what you get at most other motels like this.

Location: The area is "trashy", unappealing driving in. I said to myself, "what the heck?"
Parking was terrible. The staff stated that I would have to park "somewhere else" if all spaces filled up. Yet, the hotel lists free parking. When I was assigned my room, I thought, "shabby". I took off my shoes, to relax, and all the carpet was wet...the entire carpet. The room was dark, unappealing. I asked the staff for a switch, and he assigned me to a real nice room, cleaner, more light, much nicer and appealing.
