It was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in; there was no heater, extra blankets, and hot water for a day. The rooms need to be updated. I felt like I was transported to the past, but not in a good way. The shower was tiny. The only decent thing about this place was the front desk people.

Was able to check in early was a live saver. Staff was great and nice my room was nice and organized. While everything was a little hilly, it’s around everything you would want.

I did not know parking was 65 bucks a night. Also they are doing renovations so it made it harder to find. It’s a cute older hotel looks like an old apartment building it is a 20 min walk to oracle park

Great stay at the Handlery, Union Square. The room was clean and comfortable and the hotel well situated, just a half block away from Union Square itself. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

Not worth the money. Rooms are big with big beds, but that’s the extent of the niceness. This hotel really is ok, but it is NOT worth the money. Over $1k for 4 nights. Also, parking is an additional $65 a NIGHT, which is crazy. They also charge extra for Wi-Fi but say “it’s included.” With the money spent, likely could have stayed in a nicer area and in a nicer hotel. I’d look elsewhere.

AC didn’t really cool. I asked them to look at it and they gave me a fan, which worked, but AC still wasn't cooling. Awesome location. Taxis always available immediately.

Pay enough to stay here and they charge almost $100 a night for parking! The rooms were just mediocre. Better places in the area to stay at. Next time I will choose a different location.

Fantastic location if you are.looking to be in the heart of the tourist destination. Hotel is close to the cable cars and all transit lines (BART, MUNI). Heated pool located on site. Attentive hotel staff. Property is a little dated however rooms are incredibly clean. We stayed in a premium king room, very spacious and had a patio. Guest rooms have a mini fridge, coffee maker, safe and use of bathrobes. As it is a downtown property, can get noisy. There is homelessness in the area, however did not experience any type of aggressive panhandling or felt unsafe. If we return to San Francisco, will likely stay again at this property.

Everything was really good overall, the hotel is just older and it feels that way when you're inside. Room was a little warm overall for sleep but opening the sliding doors cooled it down quickly. Could help if they included screens.

Once grand hotel and still pretty good. Near the downtown center of Union Square, but also blocks away from open drug use and squalid homelessness. San Francisco needs to get its act together or risk losing tourism altogether.
