Ritz Calton has changedPosted Oct 19, 2014
Cons: Room Service, customer service, cleanness.
Location: Great location: Chinatown, Little Italy, and close to the bay. Museums, Churches, ferry .
We stayed at the Ritz Calton in Cancun, and it was marvelous just this year with our friends, so we decided to stay at the one in San Francisco. To start with no one helped with the bags Receptionist / staff very cold / not even a hello Room was dirty. carpets by closet, carpet by entrance, and this was a suite too, not a regular room. Elevator a, did not work, got stuck on the 7th floor. You cannot push the lobby button. Called down stairs , it was not fixed till the next day. We requested a room with a view if available, and when we got there the front desk had an attitude and told us: " We are not known for our views " I could not believe their answer, rude. Thank you, Benny Borsakian I will personally never stay there again.

Nice hotel in financial districtPosted Oct 13, 2014
Excellent experience with incredible staff on club level. Spa was a little disappointing because there was no pool and the steam room was small and extremely hotter than was comfortable.

Very nice hotel.Posted Oct 12, 2014
Pros: The hotel maintained the standard that I have become used to for Ritz Carlton.
Cons: A coffee shop with less formal meals.
Location: I have already mention the isolation of the hotel from other restaurant choices. The distance to the shopping areas and museums is a bit too far.
I was pleased with my choice of hotel in San Francisco. However, I had two issues. 1. Not being able to record my points for Ritz Carlton: and 2. The isolation of the hotel from other restaurant choices. There was only one restaurant.

ok hotelPosted Sep 29, 2014
This is an ok hotel, not worth the money even in the middle of San Francisco.

Not as Nice as the FairmontPosted Sep 21, 2014
Let's face it - the Ritz costs a boat-load of money to stay at so expectations are high and this beautiful old Hotel is starting to look a little threadbare. The staff was excellent and, had I not visited the Fairmont, I might have thought more of the Ritz but... the Fairmont is better situated even though it's just two blocks away - in San Francisco that might as well be the Bhutan Death March (my apologies to anybody who actually survived the Bhutan Death March) and the Fairmont just way, way nicer!

What a brilliant experience.Posted Sep 16, 2014
Cons: Nothing , the entire experience was exceptional.
Location: The Hotel is just 10 minutes walk from Union Square where there is excellent shopping, restaurants. once you get to know the way around San Francisco.
The Ritz Carlton San Francisco was the most brilliant experience. The Hotel and all of its staff were exceptional. The staff, from the Front Door, to Reception, to Concierge and House Staff, were most professional and courteous and no request was a problem. We celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary and the Hotel had a bottle of Champagne and a Congratulations Card in our room upon our arrival. What a delightful thought. The food in the hotel was beautiful and the complimentary fruit at Reception was excellent. If we ever get the money saved to visit San Francisco again, we will definitely stay in the Ritz Carlton. In fact, our experience was so good, we will always use the Ritz Carlton Hotel Group when we travel.

I think the Ritz Carlton people must send all their employees to charm school. Every one of them was extremely courteous, efficient, and super friendly.

Very disappointingPosted Sep 1, 2014
We were looking forward to staying there and were very disappointed. We arrived 4 of us as stated on our confirmation from Expedia to be told by hotel staff that they only had a king bed for the 4 of us. The reception attendant offered no solution other than to tell me the hotel has had this problem with Expedia. I asked for the manager and we were given one roll away bed our other daughter 11 years old slept in a chair for two nights. They offered no solution despite my persistence and printed confirmation from Expedia!

Extremely comfortable hotelPosted Aug 28, 2014
Spent 5 nights in total in a club room. Very comfortable. Only draw back no separate shower, but other than that a very nice bathroom with a good selection of toiletries. The club lounge was very useful, with a varied selection of food and drink throughout the day, which meant that if you didn't want to you did not have to go out to eat. Main drawback to the hotel,(apart from the cost) is that the walk to the hotel from Union Square includes one very steep hill.
