San Sebastian, Spain Hotel Rooms at the Independent

Lovely, rural house with a warm welcome and fantastic breakfast. Great for stopover en route to Bilbao/Santander ferry ports. Quick train ride into centre of San Sebastian. Orios itself is a peaceful and friendly location, with a great river beach and lots of history. Staff couldn't do enough for us, parking and secure outhouse for our cycles.

This is a tourist apartment and is perfect for a family or a group of five or more people. The town is cute and I recommend eating at sunset at the Castle restaurant by the sea. Tapas and a little wine is something you just can't beat. The town is small enough that you can walk to the beach, otherwise there is pay parking. The train into San Sebastian is much better than driving in the busy city. This gave us an opportunity to enjoy San Sebastian as we walked through it towards the beach and shopping. It was a great time for all.

Enjoyed the hotel- staff were great. The beach was less than a 5 min walk away.

This was a fantastic experience, much better than in one of these hotel chains I stay often. Instead, it was a perfect service, excellent room with a personal touch, and located in a nice and quite area. But the hotel is still very close to the bus station so you can be in downtown in 10-15 minutes. If I go again to San Sebastian, I will go again in Donosti hotel if I can.

Nothing was a problem for the young staff. Lovely position within walking distance of all the sights. We did everything we intended to do from a sight seeing point of view . Restaurants close by also regular bus service (13) to the town outside hotel.

Clean, organised, well proportioned rooms, tastefully decorated and well located for facilities and getting about by car.

Attractive, clean, great view though not of ocean. Walked to old town each day along the full length of the bay. Recommended to us by family, and we wholeheartedly indorse their recommendation!

Our experience was wonderful, spent 3 nights and 3 days in a special region, where people was very kind with us.

Although the lobby and entry look old fashioned, the rest of hotel is very nicely updated while maintaining its classic feel.

The hotel is new, clean and well located. The reception staff was most helpful to English speaking guests.
