Independent Sedan hotels in Sedan, France

Arriving to the immense forteresse is impressive. The hotel takes a portion of the castle and the facilities are modern and clean in a medieval castle with three feet thick walls.

This was a very disappointing stay. After spending a month staying in chateau hotels across France this was not a chateau experience. The family live in the chateau and we stayed in a modern outside block and ate in a modern restauant in this block. We got soaked even going around to the restaurant as there was no connecting entrance. In other chateau hotels we stayed in beautifully decorated rooms with 4 poster beds and ate in beautiful antique chateau dining rooms. Here we might as well have been in a modern city hotel although breakfast was in one of the rooms in the chateau though uninspiring.. The food was pretty awful in the restaurant and there was no atmosphere ( and only 4 other people there-no wonder!) A poor end to a wonderful holiday and we will not be returning and certainly would not recommend it. I am afraid we were too disgusted to want to take any photos of a hotel block and be reminded of a bad experince! We would rather cherish the photos we have of beautiful bedrooms and chateau dining rooms and lounges.
