'Summer Villa' at Somerset Dam

Whether you are entertaining, relaxing after a day on the water or just seeking some peace and quiet, ‘Summer Villa’ has it all! A large deck opens from the kitchen with glorious views down the valley and across to the mountains. A cozy outdoor fireplace invites you to cook up a pot roast, experiment with damper or simply roast marshmallows. As one of the original workers cottages believed to be built in the early 1940's, 'Summer Villa' has been a well loved family holiday home for many years. There is parking for your car and boat right outside the house.
Somerset Dam village itself has a unique welcoming atmosphere with so much to explore. Waterski, wakeboard, wakesurf or fish on the dam or swim in the enclosed swimming area down at the Spit, only a three minute drive.

Good: A very pretty house to getaway. We love the balcony, spacious kitchen and living room. Pet friendly, host prepared pet's bowls and very comfy bed that my dogs love to sit it on during the daytime with us in living room. Big fridge include seperate bar fridge. Bathroom is clean and nice. Not so good: Living room air-con definitely needs to be fixed, the fan is so loud like airplane taking off. It so cold so we have to put it on during the night time, the noise is a bit hard to handle. Balcony door needs a handle. It is hard to close it fully as the middle part of the door has no handle. 3 bedroom only 1 has a proper double bed. We recommend to change the second bedroom bunk double bed to a normal double bed. It's not practical to has 3 rooms with 2 kids setting rooms. Lastly only 1 shop closely that restaurant shut at 7pm. We dont have dinner to eat in the first night except bought some instant noodles in the central shop. Needs to pack plenty of food if you go to Somerset Dam.

Summer Villa is an awesome property. Whilst a little bit tight for car parking it is a property that the hosts have thought of everything that their guests would need during their stay. Very spacious with an amzing balcony to enjoy time away. can whole heartedly recommened this location and home

Great house and beautiful spot!
We had a great few days here with our kids and dog. We also brought our boat which we could park on the street ok. The house was very clean and well stocked with everything you need from firewood to board games to cleaning products. There is a great outlook from the deck down the valley and the village is quiet and peaceful. Bruce was very helpful and quick to respond to any queries we had. Thank you - we plan to come back!

Lovely piece of paradise
Lovely accommodation, really enjoyed the overall experience, early check-in was amazing , but unfortunately the beds were too uncomfortable to sleep in so we all sleep on floor , I layed in bed for ten minutes before my back was hurting and made decisions to sleep in lounge room , once these beds are changed I would definitely stay again, did come across brown snake around fire pit under the tiles around as one fell down when stepping on it , but luckily no one was hurt and he just went back into wood frame around area .. overall I loved the place but would of enjoyed more with good nights sleep ... Perfect country getaway
We were after a quiet weekend away with a fire place - we found exactly that. Bruce and Sally’s fully self contained unit had everything we needed to provide a very comfortable weekend away. It’s positioned in a really nice part of the world which suited us perfectly.

House was in a very quiet position, great for a relaxing time with friends. House had every thing we needed including an outdoor fire pit. Very close to the dam.
