Too many unforced and unnecessary minor errors

Posted Jul 27, 2014
A good hotel in a good location; I stay here a fair bit. However, standards are slipping: Booked a twin, got a double. Towels well past their 'sell by date' A menu that states all meat in 'free range' and then identifies cuts of beef as coming from feed lots... o be fair, staff are attentive when issues are pointed out, but at this level they shouldn't occur in the first place.

Great location

I'm not happy as no notice and no one told me the still water on the tray is chargeable. I ended up paying for 6 bottles for Australian dollar of 48. Just for still water

Good location

I'm disappointed that there was no complimentary still water for the 1st night arrival. Hotel charged $48 for just still water. They should tell us early or put a big note on the mini bar tray.

They take money not owed to them

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Very little. I am still angry they took my money
Cons: Reduce room bar prices, free wifi for customers and reduce the incidentals holding amount and tell the customer about it before doing it.
Location: OK
I stayed at the Sydney Hilton Hotel from Friday 11July 2014 to 13 July 2014. The accommodation was as expected. However, no toilet pan brush. Even in cheaper hotels these are available. I had to ring down for one. Then the towel rack was so high, my wife could not even reach one to dry herself after the shower. Yes, she is slightly below average height, but OH&S regulations have made rules about reaching above your head due to frequency of workplace injuries. How do the cleaning staff get on. We moved some drinks from the fridge to place some of our own items in the refrigerator. Guess what? We were charged for six soft drinks (@ $7.50 a can) we never even consumed and replaced back in the refrigerator when we left. That's was sorted at reception. I paid for my accommodation and incidentals and flew back to Adelaide. The following day I purchased fuel for my car, knowing full well there was several hundred dollars in the account. Guess what? Insufficient funds. Paid cash for the fuel and went home and enquirer with my bank. The Hilton Hotel is who has already debited $570 from my account for two nights, is now holding a further six hundred odd dollars, yet I owed them nothing. Was I advised? Never heard a word. I contacted the hotel oh that is our policy, however they agreed to release those funds within 24 hours instead of seven days. Not good enough!

TV didn't work. Light switches are all over the place and difficult to find in the dark or in time of need. Takes forever to retrieve your car. $68 charge for valet parking through the roof!!! Room service bland and boring selections!!

Brief stopover in Sydney

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Clean, comfy bed, nice shower, city view.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Pitt Street Mall and QVB are close by. Short walk to Darling Harbour and Circular Quay.
We were able to check in at 6.30 am after an early arrival into Sydney from Dubai. The room backed onto the lift and we had a choice to change later in the day if we wanted, we chose not to. The hotel is handy to all Sydney attractions, shopping etc.

Beautiful hotel; close to everything

Posted Jul 12, 2014
Location: The location of this hotel is near everything; very convenient.
We stayed at the Hilton because of the fantastic price on Expedia since we had rented 3 rooms for our group. When we arrived, the friendliness from the curb to the front desk was most remarkable. We were treated well and with great respect. The rooms were beautiful especially with the flat screen panel tv in the shower!! Would love to stay again.
