Pros: Convenience to beach and newer parts of Tanger.
Cons: Service and the hotel could used a little refreshing.
Location: Beach, restaurants
We needed a place the night before we left Morocco and found this hotel at a reasonable price located near the beach. That said, we decided to give it a go thinking it'd be a nice, comfy, relaxing place to recoup some energy before a long travel day ahead. The hotel itself is nice enough though giving it a four star status might be a bit of a stretch. It could certainly use some "sprucing up" and updating. The staff did their job but unfortunately weren't overly enthusiastic. We sat in the lounge by the pool for 15 minutes and the wait staff passed us by several times without even giving us a glance, yet taking care of others. We ask the person at the front desk if there was an ATM nearby and basically just got a finger point in the direction of the old part of the city. Again, it's not that the staff were overly unpleasant, they just didn't seem enthused to be working there or interested in providing a level of service consistent with the advertised "Resort and Spa" billing. We had been staying in smaller riads for all our time in Morocco and the service in those was far superior. Let me reiterate, this is a nice enough hotel and if the beach is what you're looking for in Morocco, it is conveniently located right across the street. The prices were fair enough but don't be surprised if the level of service doesn't quite match the billed "Resort and Spa" advertising.

Nice hotel close to the beachPosted Jun 19, 2014
Hotel ideally located, close to town and medina and a beach. The rooms were comfortable, but the lighting was quite poor and there were certain areas that could have been cleaner such as around the bath. Nice pool and despite limited number of sun beds we always found two free - hotel didn't seem to be that busy. Excellent breakfast and choice of food but buffet dinner disappointing choice and quality for the price. The staff were friendly but seemed to lack knowledge of the area - for example we tried to ask about Hercules' Cave but they didn't know what we were talking about. I'd recommend looking up place names in French before going to communicate with taxi drivers etc.

Great LocationPosted Apr 17, 2014
We found the hotel to be extremely convenient for walking to some of the main attractions such as The Medina, American Legion, and some other items. The team was very friendly and helpful. I believe that Manager helping from the other Atlas sent us an amenity of water and fruit which was a pleasant surprise. At night we went to the club across the street which was convenient. The lobby, public space, and rooms are a bit dated. I would recommend for anyone looking to be safely in walking distance to things.

The view is right on the ocean and it is an easy walk to the port. downtown and the medina. We never used a taxi the three days we were here until we were ready to go to the hotel. It is not riad, instead it's a modern hotel with a bar, pool, etc.
