I did like the hotel and the staff. I like these old railway hotels, it has a lot of character and I can see that it was once a prestigious hotel. I think the decline of downtown Thunder Bay, like many cities, has made this less favorable, as there are many homeless people about. The restaurant and staff are great too. I would stay again as the view of the harbor is amazing.

The neighborhood seems a little sketchy in the evening. The rooms are nice. Watching television sucks. Great view looking at Lake Superior!

I had bugs in our bed. Moved. To a new room at 1 am that was not big enough to accommodate my family. Restaurant would not let us in to eat. Horrible customer service not recommended

While the inspector did not find any pests in your room we did accommodate your request all the same and are sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused. Our restaurant is open for dinner service from 5pm to 8pm.

It was terrible. Over 100 years old and looks like never renovated. The room smells and your feet stick to the floors. You can hear toilet's flushing from other rooms. Disgusting and expensive to boot!

I’ve rated it 1 star, so here are 4 things we did not like: -the property is located in a neighbourhood that didn’t feel ideal for families, we encountered inebriated people in the parking lot upon arrival -the room provided nothing beyond the bare minimum and was very small, not even a pillow or blanket came with the cot -the restaurant refused to make us simple bowls of pasta, claiming that they closed their kitchen 1 hour before the actual closing time -not accessible for families with young children or pers, for example: while standing there with all of our stuff and all of our exhausted kids… we had to wait 3 times for our turn in the slowest elevator (which was always full of random Wednesday night party-goers) *please note that the one star is all for the friendly desk and security staff. Kudos to you.

Rooms were terrible for 200 dollars a night for 2 double beds, hotel building is very old and outdated. We asked for a late check out and was granted a 1230pm check out by front desk, but next day we had front desk call us and ask why were still in the room at 1106am. Stay away from this hotel, it was a terrible experience. Also one of our 2 rooms didnt even have an air conditioner. The roll away bed was a frame made of broken coils, not something you can even sit on let alone sleep.

I use to love staying at this hotel. Not anymore. It needs work and should be done soon before it’s too late. It’s a historical building and money should be put into it. It’s too bad☹️

Fairly run down, but good location
Good location, but the hotel is pretty run down…the Ac unit didn’t work, our bathroom door didn’t close, and there seemed to be a lot of price discrepancies for a room. Prince Arthur website gave a room rate of $209 +tax, but we saw signs for $99 for the same room on the highway. Then it was $160 on hotels.com. Weird.

Our highway rate is a limited availability promotion and, depending on which website you look at, it will show the price in either Canadian or American dollars which can make it seem like it's all over the place. Close to the bay. Nice trails. I didn’t like noise in building, people’s in hallway making noise at 2 am. And the scenery across street with boarded up windows is not attractive. So I won’t be going back to that hotel

Beautiful old historical hotel, kids loved the big rooms. Great view, great pool (once you find it). Short walk to waterfront park. Unfortunately as in many downtown areas the homeless and intoxicated are noticeable. Would stay there again.

Staff were very friendly. Could hear all the other toilets flushing all night, door slamming. The room smelled musty when we got in. The location isnt the best for shopping. The neighborhood isn't the best.

I don’t want to say dirty, as that isn’t the right word. I think I would say it’s more grubby. Old amenities, no decent chairs to sit on except two unmatching kitchen chairs. Good luck trying to access the front desk with the room phone. And maid service is sub par. In hindsight, the 3 stars I gave should have really been a 2
