Good location in Vancouver Downtown

Posted Jul 29, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Continental Breakfast
Location: Gas District, train station, hop on hop off bus stop, observation tower/needle all nearby
Expedia failed to note that 3 to 4 rooms share a bathroom. We had no problems and never saw others. Bathrooms always open. Hotel is updating and renovating. It will look great when finished. It was clean and had a large fan in the room THANK GOODNESS !! Hottest weather almost on record and no air conditioning! Continental Breakfast could be better. Canned fruit, apples, cereal, croissants, toast, coffee and tea.

The Victorian Hotel was just lovely. A true old fashion city hotel. The rooms were well appointed, and very comfortable. If you looking for a industry standard (key cards and elevators) then this is not the hotel for you. But if you want a friendly staff and true charm in a great location, then this place is for you.

Lack of air-conditioning and an elevator was a challenge.

Location was great but the hotel was old.

Posted Jul 22, 2015
The hotel lacked modern facilities. There was no air conditioning. Too pricey for such a horrible place. It needs to be retrofitted with modern facilities. Hotels are meant for leisure and relaxation but I must say the Victorian is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

Central to everything

Posted Jul 21, 2015
Pros: The character and history of the hotel. Like the updates and liked that they offered breakfast as well.
Location: It is close to BC place, Rogers Arena and science world, as well as places to shop and eat.
It was only one night but overall it was pleasent. It was close to the event we attended and close to shopping and restaurants. Staff was welcoming and accomodating.

Do Not recommend. Very NOISY and DIRTY.

Posted Jul 21, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything starting from the services being offered.
Location: Very Central to Gastown and beautiful public library.
This is not a hotel as they call. Is a bed and breakfast where you have to share the dirty bathrooms and the rooms are too small for comfort. It is a very noisy and if you want a good night of sleep, please go find another place because this is not the place for someone to rest. People are wake at 2:00 -3:00 am slamming doors and walking undressed in the hallway 😣. I had the displeasure to open my door to go to the bathroom and see a guy in his underwear walking out of the bathroom. It is a place with no elevators and poor service. The breakfast is terrible and the manager mrs. Cecil is very rude. All the times that I needed to ask for anything and would go and ask her, she was terribly rude. I do not recommend anyone to stay on this place. For you to have a good experience while visiting Vancouver go and stay somewhere else. This place is expensive, DIRTY and NOISY. Worst place from all places that we stayed in BC.

Weekend in the City

We had tickets for the QE Theatre and this hotel was the perfect location ... a 5 minute walk away. We were looking for a hotel that offered something different & we found it at the Victorian - clean, modern rooms in a historical building.

People were nice and room and bathroom clea.

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Did not enjoy how hot the room was. No air flow and even though a floor fan was provided. I understand that u are trying to keep the integrity of the building but an air conditioning unit was definitely necessary. Comfort level was hot and sweaty. We had to lay on the bed with bare essentials on and still sweating and lack of sleep. It was not an enjoyable stay at the hotel. We would never go back unless the room had an air conditioner. For what we paid to stay there and what we had to go through was not worth it and parking was few and tight. It was good that they had an enclosed gated area but get there quick in order to obtain a spot. Thanks

Good location, clean, but no AC nor elevator.

Posted Jul 17, 2015
Pros: location, attractive and clean rooms, comfortable beds and price.
Cons: Need to add central air conditioning.
Location: Canada Place cruise ship port and gastown with its restaurants, pubs and trendy shops all within walking distance.
Oldest hotel in Vancouver near Gastown and Canada Place nicely decorated and very clean with an affordable price. Shared bathrooms for some rooms which are very clean, nicely decorated and very clean. However, no air conditioning which we needed the day we stayed. Also no elevator. Do not recommend for individuals who have difficulty with stairs, and do not recommend during the warm months of the year.
