Center of Avignon at the Palace

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: The staff helped enormously with a difficult printing problem.
Location: Palace of Popes is adjacent. A vibrant city.
Great location, and surprisingly quiet in light of its location on a main blvd.

Nice hotel with excellent location and good price

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Relatively speaking the staffs were nice when compared to people from Avignon. Its location is ideal and overall the hotel was clean.
Location: Don't eat at the open air restaurants. Also, don't eat their ice cream unless you want have food poisoning. Hygiene is surprisingly lacking in Avignon
Over all, I was more impressed by the hotel than I was expected. It was clean with an excellent location. The room was a little small but that was expected, so there were no surprises. The price was reasonable for the central location near to the main places to see in Avignon. One of the restaurants outside the hotel has a lot to be desired. I had lunch at restaurant "Le Venaissin" and that was a big mistake. The wait for someone to take the order was at least half-hour, and wait another half-hour before the food was ready. When placing the order, I requested that they replace the french fries with rice and at the time of the order they said they would do. When the order came, they rudely said that they only had fries and that was it. I didn't get what I ordered and the staffs didn't care a bit. They didn't have any soup, coffee or any other hot drinks. While I was having lunch, the staffs were criticizing a group of Chinese diners who according to them didn't give enough tips, yet they tried to lure Chinese to eat at their restaurant. Overall, I should have given them 2 cents as tips because they didn't deserve a penny more. Of all the places I visited in S. of France, Avignon was the worst. People were rude (except the staffs at the Kyriad hotel), and service was next to non existent. Also, beware of food poisoning. Hygiene seemed to be lacking in Avignon. Visit Avignon at your own risk.

Nice hotel

Posted Jun 26, 2014
Pros: Location, comfortable rooms.
Location: Located close to Palais des Papes.
The hotel was very convenient for sightseeing. Located right on the main square of the old town. About 15 minutes walk to train station and bus going to TGV Avignon station. The room was good size and had nice bathroom. Room had coffee maker and refrigerator.

Nice hotel in great location

Posted May 25, 2014
Pros: location, breakfast
Location: all sites are nearby
This hotel is centrally located within the walls in Avignon, a few steps from the Palais des Papes and close to a parking facility. The hotel is basic, but the staff was incredibly helpful. The breakfast was inexpensive and very good.

This was a great hotel in Avignon

Posted Apr 20, 2014
Pros: Location, view from room, cleanliness.
Location: The hotel is on a main square and has lots of restaurants nearby. The old bridge is a brief walk away.
This hotel was directly on a very pleasant plaza and had great views of the square. It was easy to walk to from the train station and easy to find. The room was bright and airy and everything was clean. The staff was very nice and informative. I would stay here again.

Pleasant surprise

Posted May 23, 2012
Pros: The large room
Location: Central location.
When we arrived at the Kyriad Palais des Papes, we were expecting a very small room as our previous experience with the Kyriad was such. To our pleasant surprise, our room was very roomy and contained four single beds. The bathroom was small and basic, however it was clean. The evening staff was very pleasant and took the time to recommend restaurants and make reservations on our behalf. The hotel is very well situated on the Place de l'Horloge and is within walking distance to most attractions.

Great location, friendly staff

Posted Apr 13, 2012
Pros: Location was perfect, staff very friendly
Cons: Nothing
Location: Couldn't be better
The location is perfect, it is directly in the center of the square so it is right in the middle of all the activities. I was initially concerned about the noise level, but there was no discern able noise at all. We could walk to everything quickly. We arrived by shuttle bus from the train station and then it was a short, direct walk to the hotel.

Looks Deceiving, Really Comfy and Clean

Posted Oct 8, 2010
Don't let the hustle and bustle outside this hotel, or the dark entry to the elevator, or tiny hotel desk scare you !!! Take a breath, and go through to your room. It is a simple, typical smaller European hotel, that offers everything you need while in glorious Avignon, and its' surrounding towns.. It is clean, scrubbed, and quaint. Little biscuits are left daily, and a pint size breakfast room where for 20 euros a day breakfast for 2. It is probably hot in the summer, so be sure to incquire about air, but we believe the whole hotel has air. Draw the blinds to keep sun out and conserve energy.. Price is great, we had the 4th or 5th floor right opposite the theater, or town hall.Would return. Hotel asks for your key when going out and there is always someone to return it to you upon return.
