Hotel located approx. 5 minute walk from main train station. Arrived at property and like some other reviews stated was advised that we were staying at the other property located about a minute walk away. Had to carry luggage up stairs due to no elevator. Lots of young adults staying during our time and were sometimes a bit loud. Room was nice and adequate and suited our needs for the two night stay.

The hotel Nazionale was a great place to stay. My husband and I loved that it was conveniently located in the heart of the area. The Venice San Lucia train station was a three minute walk from our hotel making it convenient to catch our train when we were leaving for rome. The water ferry/taxied were 3 minutes away making it an easy location to navigate to San Marco or Rialto. About 15 minutes to each of these locations via the water routes. There were an abundance of restaurants around the hotel as well as gelato. The check in process was smooth. When we arrived, there were two flights of steps to get to the front desk but once you were in the hotel there was an elevator available. Our room was ready when we arrived and the front desk gave us all the necessary information we needed. The room was small but comfortable. It was clean. The bathroom was clean. They provided soaps and extra towels. Breakfast is provided by the hotel, continental style- 10 euros per person. We enjoyed the breakfast, it was fresh with several options. The staff was attentive and kind. We would certainly return to Hotel Nazionale when visiting Venice again in the future! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Very close to the train station. For us, we were explicitly looking for accommodation that was close to the train station. We had neither the desire to carry luggage over any bridge nor a desire to wait to start our sightseeing. This location fit our needs. It’s located about 5 minutes from the train station. We got placed in the building across the next block. There’s no reception but truthfully we didn’t need them. Once you have the keys, you’re independent to coming and going. The room was clean. The service was quick. Unfortunately, all the plugs except one in our room did not work. We thankfully brought a power bank that we charged nightly. Also, the plugs used here are the European 3-pole plug. The bed was very uncomfortable. The pillows were low. An overall good choice for our location-priority (close to the train station).

The hotel is one of the first coming into Venice from the bus or train station. There are many food options close by. The rooms are small, but clean and have a private bathroom.

i never write reviews but i couldn’t help to write one for this place. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. Staff is horrible and rude. My mom and i were unsure how to use the vending machine cause they had no buttons and had two connected, when we asked the lady at the front she was very rude about it and said something like “it’s very simple” and didn’t bother to show us and instead another person staying at the hotel helped us. So ridiculous. We also stayed right beside the staff area and they were extremely loud in the morning waking us up at about 7-8am which was very annoying and rude considering we were tired and wanted to sleep. Lastly, you have to get up/down a huge flight of stairs to enter so if you have big suitcases good luck! it was just my mom and i and all three men we're staring at us without asking if we needed help while we were struggling . Every other hotel we’ve been to they have helped us and been nicer. i would never stay here again and would not recommend anyone else! The people working should be ashamed of themselves.

We arrived to the hotel before our room was ready, so we left our bags and started exploring Venice. We came back to the hotel at 6:30pm and were surprised at the fact that they were sending us to another building, not the one in the pictures. This other building had no front desk, no proper ventillation, and had a broken bed. We were told that the main hotel (the one in the pictures) is for large groups and for families, they use another location. This is not specified anywhere on hotels .com. Therefore, I want to make a formal complaint on the fact that we were taken to another hotel, not the one we reserved on hotels .com, and the front desk said nothing to us when we first arrived in the morning. Had they been clear, we wouldve been able to find another hotel.

Dear Miss Olaechea.We're very sorry to hear that your didn't enjoy your stay in our hotel, we want to take this opportunity to clarify the following:During the days of your stay we had a big group in the main building of a young school trip, and since that we know that sometimes they might be a bit noisy we decided to allocate you to the second building, we wish to clarify also that there's no difference of quality of rooms between the main building and the one where you've stayed .Despite the fact that the reception is not present on the second building we have surveillance cameras, and also a direct line phone in each room of the second building to the main building.I don't know if you had the chance to talk to someone of our staff about your issues regarding your room during your stay but we would had been more than willing to help you solving your problem.Regardless of everything, once again we're sorry to hear that you felt uncomfortable during our stay with us, hopefully we will have the chance to serve you better next time.Kind regards

Location was very close to the Venice train station (400M). Friendly reception. Was given room that was not prepared and staff immediately placed us into a new room without issue and staff was very apologetic for giving us a room nor prepared. Fair value for price. I would stay again.

It was a very small, very red room with a bed and toilet. We moved the small desk so that there was enough room for our bags to open. It was in the heart of Venice so location was key.

Very nice place in the center w bus and train station close to this property. Staff unfriendly and different staff made up different rules regarding returning or taking with us the room keys when we went out. Overall a good stay. Sanjoy

The location was great but unfortunately that was the only good thing about it. We were placed in the annex building a few doors down and no wifi in room, no a/c, walls and floors stained, toilet seat broken, shower stall leaked water out to the bathroom floor and when we advised the staff of the wifi issue there response was simply "we're sorry." Had to go out into the hallway for wifi needs. "International cable tv" was a 15in lcd screen with 12, yes 12 channels all for local Italian tv.

Dear Customer, sorry for your bad review. Unfortunately for the wifi it happens that the line does not work and during the weekend we do not have the possibility to call a technician to fix it. The air conditioning by law in Italy turns off in October and the heating is activated, as the temperature is not high. our dependance is 1 minute from the main building is very comfortable and with all the same comforts as the main building, with the exception of the reception with which you can communicate by phone Yours sincerely Booking Department

Truly cannot recommend this property due to: 1. Unstable hot water 2. Toilet door cant lock 3. No aircon 4. Nearly no window 5. Falling ceiling light and luckily we save our legs 6. Fly in mosquitos we at least killed 5 [suggest installing insect net at window] Could only rate 2 scores for 1. Superb close to train station 2. Stable wifi internet connection

this is not a nice hotel to stay for a vacation. the check-in office is on the second floor and without elevator. We need to move our luggage to the second floor. The room is very very small, and the shower is very very small too. The breakfast is not so good either. Overall, It is not worth 120 per night. I will not stay again. The only good thing is the hotel close to the train station.

Carnival Venice 2019
Family ( with 1 teenager) trip to visit Venice during Carnival. The Hotel Nazionale has a great location , closed to the train station in a very animated street, in front of one of the best Pasticcerie of Venice, Pasticceria Del Mas. The staff was very professional and helpful.

Considering Venice gets 100’s of tourist daily unless your budget is high most midrange hotels are wore out. The staft does there best and I could not live that life. You will either love Venice or find every reason to never return. I will return in the future but try a different hotel.
