An excellent and affordable place to stay if you want a basic bed and breakfast place to stay as a base to explore Venice. Very close to train station that takes you only 15minutes or less to Venice. Friendly and helpful staff especially Joseph who gave me tips on my out and about in Venice.

It’s a nice hotel and is very clean! The noise on the morning and night is quite annoying but can’t really be helped as the rooms are so close together. We didn’t have the best welcome either with the receptionist making a dig at us for not understanding a lot of Italian (we had just travelled from Prague and Salzburg and was so tired, learning the words “check-in” wasn’t really on our agenda). This left us in a bit of a mood as he even suggested that not speaking in Italian would mean we would be treated “like tourists”. He did scare us a little and made out that we would be given bad food if we spoke in English. However this was not the case, we found that most are lovely. It just wasn’t the best customer service and I haven’t had time to learn Italian, he shouldn’t be welcoming tourists like that into his hotel. Besides that, the hotel was fairly average and the other members of staff were great. You also have to hand in your key whenever you leave, which we didn’t really like the idea of doing.

This hotel is in a great location, just a few minutes' walk from the main Mestre train station, and therefore about 15 mins from Venice. The hotel has an art deco exterior and a quaint basic Italian interior and it was exactly what we were looking for in a budget hotel; somewhere to sleep and shower while we spent all of our time over in the city. However, there were some issues: Firstly, Ryanair lost our bag on the flight to Venice and we told the hotel that it may be delivered at some point during the weekend. We bought new clothes etc and were pretty upset with the situation (not the hotel's fault). We were then told at checkout on Monday that the bag had arrived at the hotel on Saturday morning, but nobody had told us. We were told by the reception staff that this was our fault for not asking them each day if it had arrived, rather then them just calling us to let us know. The hotel have all of our contact details. Secondly, the room was basic, rustic and Italian. Exactly what I expected. It had a nice balcony, and was worth the money. Our issue was that we developed multiple insect bites each day. I initially thought that these were mosquitoes from the island, but it was increasingly evident that these were actually bedbugs from the hotel. We arrived back late each evening and left early each morning so really didn't have the energy to moan about it, but hopefully the hotel will take this on board and deep clean the rooms.

Pleasent Surprise.
The place was old Italy charm with clean modern upgrades. Desk people spoke English and were very gracious. Bar serves a mean cocktail and the buffet at breakfast was decent and reasonable. Train access to Island 5-10 minute walk. We will stay here again.

Clean room and good breakfast.
I reserved a room for 3 persons. The first room they gave us was incredibly small. We barely had room to walk psat the beds to get to the bathroom and then with suitcaes it was impossible. I asked the front desk for another room and they were very accomodating and got the 3 of us a larger room . The air conditioner worked well too. The breakfast was very good. They had a wide selection of healthry itmes . This hotel was about a 15 -20 minute walk from the mestre train station .

Value hotel near Venice
An older Italian Hotel near the Mestre/Venice train station. Convenient location in a workingclass city that keeps you close to transportation to Venice or by rail to all of Italy. A quiet side street with a number of good restaurants, coffee shops, fast food options.

Thanks for your positive review, our hotel is one of the first in Mestre, since the 50es years and its frequented by many clients since longer than 20. We renovate our rooms time to time and new works are in progress. It's definitely located in one of the most comfortable position, very closed to railway and with buses at 100 meters and tram at 200 meters. Our breakfast is huge and quite apreciated. LOCATION : awesome just 2 minute sfrom mestre train station very easy and to find and nice and quite location BREAKFAST: very good super diverse and very completed many things to choose ATTENTION: awesome the personnel is very helpful ROOMS: a little bit small but is ok for a couple of days and they could put a couole of extra pillows

Online said there was an airport shuttle but there wasn't one so we asked the front desk for a regular taxi the next morning and he sent his friend who drove a Mercedes Benz and it ended up being 52 euro for a 5 mile taxi ride, and the driver took the longest route and drove so slow we we're almost late getting to our flight

What you have written couldn' t be anything else than fruit of an Anonymous identity. We have no personal friends who drive taxi, but exist regular taxi service and limousine services, the first ones are public services, so they cannot be booked in advance, while the second ones work on reservation only. Writing about flight you meant to reach the airport, not exactly at 5 mile, but exactly the double, if we don't consider Treviso Airport thais is even much farther. No need to write longer.

Served its purpose
Hotel Piave is conveniently located around 5 minutes from Mestre Train station to Venice. I stayed a couple of nights for my trip. The ticket from Mestre to Venice one way was €1,70. That was a cheaper alternative than staying in Venice proper. The area around the station can be a little sketchy at night and early morning but nothing too bad. The room I booked had a private bathroom which was a plus. It had Air Conditioning which is a major plus considering it gets pretty warm in the summer in Italy. Some things that were meh are the following: -you had to leave your passport as a deposit for the key which I get why they do it but I felt kind of insecure about it -the staff were alright, not the best in being friendly or super helpful. For instance, the guy in the early morning; when I was leaving, I needed to call a taxi. When I asked him if he could call me one, he balked about it saying "good luck getting one this early in the morning." I could've done without that. Overall, I thought it was a decent spot to save some money when visiting Venice. Worth a night or two.

to express an innocent opinion about the chances to find a taxi without reservation on early morning in Venice area is no way a negative thing how you wanna consider that publically. thanks God Italy is still a liberal country and if not unkind, we are free to talk normally. We book taxis every single day, so that, no problem to do the same with you.

Everything in their description is a lie. There is no room service, there is no bath (we specifically asked for a bath and when our room didn't have one the receptionist said only one or two rooms have baths, even though it's stated that the rooms have shower/tub combination, not either/or). Staff are incredibly rude and unhelpful. We didn't have hot water for our entire 4 day stay, even though the receptionist said they would fix it on the first day; it was never fixed. We asked multiple times for them to fix it and they just told us to 'run the water for 5 mins' (as if we were idiots). The 'bar' is just reception where you can buy luke warm beers. And the receptionist sold us three beers over about 2 hours and then just decided not to serve us anymore, for no reason whatsoever; we weren't drunk or loud or anything, I think it was just inconvenient for him to have to keep getting beers. The room is tiny and the shower floods the entire room. The hotel is short walking distance from mestre station but when we went to catch the train, every single train was delayed for minimum 1.5hrs, so good luck getting anywhere from here. The area the hotel is in is pretty scuzzy too. The city tax isn't included either, so for the entire price of this hotel it is most certainly not worth it for how pathetic it's amenities are, how rude the staff are and how dodgy of an area it's in. Seriously, stay anywhere else.

You get what you pay for
It is a cheap hotel. The area doesn't feel that safe, room was tiny, they don't have flat irons and when we forgot our passports by the front desk during check in they didn't even bother to call our room so we pick them up. Also, the train ride to Venice is short, but is a very croweded train station and feels not safe, we heard a lot of pickpocketing warnings. If you can, stay in the Venice island.

Small hotel located near Mestre railway station
Our family stayed in this hotel due to the proximity to Mestre Railway station, and cheaper than staying in similar accommodation in Venice itself. Room was small, particularly the bathroom, but fine for one night. There were restaurants and cafes near the hotel, so location was good.

You get what you pay for
We booked the hotel because it had decent reviews and it was not as expensive as some of the other hotels that we were trying to book. The beds were not comfortable, the bathroom was very small. The was no seperation between the shower and everything else just a curtain I could touch all four walls by standing in the center where the shower drain was and spreading my arms. Everything got wet when you showered. There was some mold in the shower corner.

Pros: Affordable price. Good location. Good front desk staff on the night shift during check-in & explaining about Venice map. Have free unlimited wi-fi with good connectivity. Got private bathroom with working hot water. Working room heater. Got luggage storage place in the lobby. Cons: Disappointed that no kettle was provided to boil hot water and no ironing place. Bathroom size was small and too compact. Beds were not that comfortable. Tv was too small. My room got no view. Front desk didn't help to carry my bags when bringing me to the room which was at the other building, he didn't even offer.

Nice staffs , simple design, good location
Stuffs are friendly and very close to the bus stop(2 mins walk) and train station(8mins walk) Also there's a supermarket nearby for about 5 mins walk. However , it's very quite after 10 o'clock and some gangs there opposite of the hotel at night . So becareful and try to go back before getting dark. Hotel room is very tranditional , the bathroom is quite small and the swatches for the water are so strange, I stayed 5 nights and still couldn't figure it out, sometimes there's no hot water , I asked the staff how to use that swatches and he said he didn't know lol so I had to figure it out myself and after 5 nights I still can't .... Other than it, the staff in the day is so helpful, recommended us some nice places to eat !! I think during day time the area is super good , it's just a bit scary when walking back at the midnight :/

Rude staff. Waited for them to finish personal call before being helped. Asked to store luggage prior to check in and they told me to stick it in an unsecured TV room. Power in room went out in the morning. Didn't feel like asking for assistance. Used flashlight on phone to pack and quickly exit. Beware!

Hotel average, everything is old. But I had a good offer and I just wanted to be close to the bus station and other facilities, so that these aspects it was fine. Negative side: bathroom, not dirty but very very old and the whole bathroom gets drench after a shower.

Around 5 minute distance from Mestre Station on foot, so no complaints on that. It takes around 10 to 15 minutes from Mestre to Venice SL and the rail fare is less than 2 euros one way so Mestre is a decent alternative of expensive hotels in the islands. However, alhough my room had everything I needed like a TV, very old furniture that I can put my clothes, and a private bathroom, overall the hotel needs urgent renovation - even though there was a shower in thr bathroom, it was extremely small(I'm just 5' 7" tall) and therefore I gave up shower one entire day. Also very uncomfortable when sitting on the toilet, since the bathroom was so small. There is a small park between the train station and the hotel, and it scared me out slightly when I was walking along the street next to the park since every night there were groups of presumably bad guys smoking there. Overall it is like you-get-how-much-you-paid. I rather recommend a B&B in this neighborhood over this hotel. Presumably you get slightly better room than what this hotel has.

This was a 1 night stay to ensure I got to Marco Polo airport, in time for my flight home. The night desk clerk was not very friendly, but the staff in the morning was very accomodating. This is an aging property, that could use a face-lift. The wi-fi was intermittent, the bed was comfortable, the sheets were clean, but the walls are thin. The shower was typically Italian (almost too small to use).

Bathrooms are really small. Just enough room for sink and toilet and they went and put a shower in there. Aircon worked really well. Breakfast was good. The walk to the train station is a bit worrying as you walk past a small green parkway. As we walked past they followed us. A group of 10 thugs, We chose to stay in at night after that.

For the price, it's a good place to stay. Good locations, staff (young guy in his 20's) on the night we check was super nice, rooms are small, beds are tiny, wifi is useless.
