"The owners were super! Plenty of parking and COVERED parking for your UTV. They had our trail passes ready for us and anything else we needed.(ice,bottled water)Our dog Copper was very comfortable here and loved the dog visits from William and Jennifers dogs as well as the neighbors dogs. It was clean and comfortable. Perfect location for trail riding Bearwallow and Rockhouse. Washer & Dryer made my weekend..I like going home with my clothes already washed!"

"Papa Bear's Den was a perfect place for my husband and I to stay with our son and daughter in law. Plenty of space, comfy beds, well stocked kitchen and linens, great TVs and even outdoor areas to cook and visit. We loved sitting in the backyard listening to the river. Gary was a very responsive and friendly host and went out if his way to make our stay nice. He's put a lot of love and care into the house and it shows. I especially appreciate him not being stingy with things like TP, trash...

"Had everything we needed for an extended weekend of riding the HM trails. Very clean, comfortable and quiet but not far to Buffalo Mountain trail access and gas station. We enjoyed relaxing by the fire pit each evening. Beds are comfortable. Kitchen well equipped. We’ve stayed many places in the HM system over the last several years and this house is one of the nicest we’ve seen. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend. Thank you for allowing us to stay!"

"Unfortunately we didn’t get to stay as planned due to being exposed and testing positive for Covid. Our host was understanding and very helpful, even offering different dates for a future stay. However, due to end of year work obligations we were unable to make plans. Genuinely nice, honest host that went out of her way to accommodate. I would definitely recommend them to anyone."

"Everything about this place was great. We will definitely be staying here again. The only reason the location got a 4 star was because there is a ball park that shares a parking lot with this home and it gets crazy crowded but then on a good note you can run over to the concession stand and get some good snacks! We rode 10 hours one day. The trails were amazing around this property!"

"We are 12 people staying at the house very roomy .we had a bon fire every night ! Very close to alot of trails. Food and fuel was about 10 minutes ish from house. We had alot of fun !"

"We came to West Virginia to ride the Hatfield and McCoy trails. We found this house as it is located very near the trails. The house was very clean. Has a nice big kitchen and living room area for sitting around and eating or socializing. Was big enough for 8 adults to stay in comfortably! Would definitely recommend staying here! The ownwrs were very easy to communicate with."

"My wife and I stayed at the Red Dog Cottage for our wedding anniversary trip. The cottage and surrounding property were beautiful and meticulously cleaned and groomed. My wife and I enjoy riding ATVs and this location was perfect for that, being only .5 mile from the Hatfield McCoy trail entrance. The property owners are wonderful people and the love they have poured into this property is immediately evident the minute you set foot on it."
