A truly memorable stay!

Other than a few ’technical’ issue’s with in room movies, internet access not being free and with as many rooms as I reserved and paid for (very costly)...so free WIFI should, at the very least, be included, this hotel, is exquisitely, beautiful! I wish I could remember all the names of the staff, but I do remember Laura. She treated me like royalty and made every effort to accomadate any and all of our needs as did her associates during the period of mine and my families stay.Despite the fact that our family had procured a dozen or so rooms, we were not allowed to take a few snap shots of my niece as she left the hotel on her way to her wedding. Laura was off during the weekend and the weekend staff, well lets just say, avoid staying on the weekend! I do recommend that you visit this hotel no matter where you stay while in Nashville...it’s an architechural splender!

"Union Station Nashville - Fantastic Hotel"

I can’t say enough good things about the Wyndham Union Station Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. It was one of the best hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. The hotel itself is a superb testament to the architecture of a bygone era. I could not stop marveling at the gorgeous barrel-vaulted, stained-glass ceiling in the lobby, the beautifully carved wooden staircases, and the huge wonderful fireplace mantles. It is too exquisite for mere words. The service, food, fitness room, and meeting rooms were also great, measuring up to the beauty of the hotel itself. The location is in perfect walking distance of all the major Nashville attractions. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. They will not be disappointed. My hat’s off to the city of Nashville for saving this unique and historic treasure.

One must see the basic Nashville attractions in order to understand the city’s historic culture and entertainment. Nashville is a country music lover’s dream come true.

Excellent hotel, but find somewhere else to eat!

The hotel is beautiful, couldn’t say enough about it. Clean, fantastic looking inside and out, and had the most helpful and friendly staff you could ever imagine. The ONLY gripe we had was the (Only) restaurant/room service. The food is *extemely* overpriced and is not good. They were more often than not incorrect in what they brought us time after time and the food was just bland. Their "Farm fresh eggs" tasted like paper, hollandaise sauce was terrible. The meat (they claim to be a steakhouse) was horrid. Tough, chewy and tasteless. You’d expect at least something you could finish eating for a $30 plate... but this restaurant does not deliver that!

Old World Charm in Music City

I have been to Union Hotel on two occasions, one year apart. The quality remains the same - very good. The main draw is the ambiance of the hotel. The restoration is immaculate and the nooks and cranies make it intersting. Rooms nicely furnished - fun bar.

Spectacular hotel!!! Can’t wait to go back!

I had the time of my life. It’s the most beautuful hotel I’ve ever seen. Bar none. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was the best meal of my life. Really! I had corn chowder and crab cakes. Delicious. We got a nice bottle of champagne and the bread was great. It comes with a dipping tray that includes butter, olive oil, jalepeno havarti (spelling?) and something else. The room was huge, great views of Nashville. Lovely service. My one tiny gripe was that the shower (no tub) leaked like a sieve! There were big gaps where the glass doors didn’t meet. We used every towel in the room to mop up the floor. We finally stuffed towels in the gaps. It was a design flaw. This was inconvenient but no big deal. I would definitely stay here again.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

There was an awesome honky tonk bar in Printer’s Alley. Loved Printer’s Alley. You must go there to avoid the crazy Broadway and 2nd Street crowds. Also, to avoid the horrible horse drawn carriage Printer’s Alley is ideal.

Would definitely stay again

This was my first visit to Nashville, I came for business and extended my stay. I switched hotels to the Union Station for the leisure part of my trip. The hotel is in a great location. The train tracks are still active, but from our room we were not able to hear them at all. The beds were so comfy. I will stay here again if I ever find myself back in Nashville.

Great location and beautiful hotel

The hotel is gorgeous, great experience. Easy to get downtown, great valet, ordinary concierge if you want help but get a guide book and work it out yourself. we never ate at the hotel so don’t know if that was good. There was a wedding on when we stayed which was a little annoying so they did not service our room, but we loved it anyway.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Go to Roberts and watch some honky tonk, buy some nashville cowboy boots, go to east nashville for some vintage shopping, great food and southern hospitality.

A pleasure in Nashville

My husband and I spent our anniversary in Nashville this year. I booked the Union Station hotel on expedia. The staff at the hotel could not have been more pleasant and accommodating. The rooms were beautiful and roomy. We have already recommended the Union Station to others.

This is one of those places you hate to leave!

The room and staff were everything you could hope for. The absolute best thing was the quality and comfort of the bed! However the Herman Miller desk chair was a definite plus. The only negative, and this is stretching it, was the additional charge for WiFi connection. Sort of seems like it should be included in the room price.

Traveler's tip on dining

The food in the Prime 108 restuarant was very good, but rather pricey. Breakfast with the tip ran around $40 for two. Nice food for gee it was only eggs, toast and sausage.

AWESOME PLACE TO STAY...

The hotel was great and I will definitely be back for a more leisurely stay. The only negative was the price of drinks at the bar. They were way too high, they need to realize that Nashville is not Beverly Hills or New York City.

Basement Bliss

I guess we got spoiled by our first visit to this historic property (newlyweds), where we scored a top-floor room with a view of the city. This time we were relegated to the bottom floor with a view of a patch of grass and a wood fence. The room was very nice, although no exhaust fan in the bathroom. I thought we may be in trouble when I could hear our neighbors kids screaming and talking loudly through the wall as soon as we checked in to our room. Turns out they stuck us next to a family of five. Incredibly, they eventually quieted down, and we did not hear a thing the rest of our stay. This is a convenient location, and we enjoyed walking to the attractions downtown, although we got caught in a rainstorm, and got soaked. The staff was ready at the entrance with dry, fluffy towels when we returned, which I though was really great.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Be sure and check out "Past Perfect" restaurant and bar (122 3rd Ave. S.), located just far enough off the main drag to avoid long lines and crowds. Great food, and atmosphere near downtown.

Updated Historic Charm

My husband and I stayed at Union Station when we were in the area for a wedding. It was a nice hotel -- nicely decorated, spacious room, vintage charm. It was a short walk to shops and dining. We really enjoyed our stay and are glad we chose to stay at the Wyndham Union Station.

Nice stay

Beautiful old hotel. Very clean, great staff, easy walk to downtown and riverfront. Read reports of train problems but to be honest with the air on we never really heard much train noise. Nice place if you are going to be out and about. Since no pool, no vending machines, very small bar and food not really that great for the price I wouldnt suggest it for families.

Great Lobby, servicable room

My wife and I stayed here for the CMA music festival and it was in walking distance to the downtown which was nice. We were greeted with great service and impressed with the hotel lobby. When we got to our room, it was one level below the lobby and the view out the window was a stone arch, so there was no point to having a window at all. The room was clean, but the first night we were there the air conditioner broke down at about midnight and dripped water from the ceiling of the bathroom all over our stuff. The staff was attentive and polite and fixed the problem quickly, but it was not the start of the vacation we expected. Except for that incodent, our stay was good and the bed was comfortable.

Nashville Architectural gem

Stunning looking hotel, the lobby is truly breathtaking. Rooms are well appointed but paintwork is looking a little shabby. Shower was excellent, powerful and a large cubicle. Great bed and super comfy. I was concerned about train noise from other reviews but only heard 2 trains over the course of the weekend. Downside was the restaurant, food was great but quite pricy and probably not for the average traveller. Flying Saucer pub next door had an excellent selection of beer and the food was also good.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

The hotel was on 10th and broadway so a little walk to get to 2nd street and the main attractions. Also it is uphill on the way back to the hotel. Despite this most of Nashville’s attractions were easy to get to from the hotel and it was convenient not to take the car.

Convenient and cool...

We stayed at Union Station during a weekend trip to Nashville to attend a concert at the nearby Sommet Center. It was a short walk from the hotel - super convenient. The hotel itself was beautiful and the room (especially the beds) were very comfortable. We had a little trouble with the air conditioner in our room, but the problem was taken care of immediately when we notified the front desk. I would love to stay here again.

Traveler's tip on dining

The Melting Pot (a fondue restaurant) is just a few blocks away from the hotel and was delicious - a very fun dining experience.
