Close to airport

Very close to the airport, right behind Hooters and across the street from MGM. I love that there was a full kitchen with dishes, silverwear and appliances... this would be a great place for an extended stay.

Good hotel for a family stay

I stayed with my family, total 5 people. Service and room were very good. I suggest you try to get a second floor suite because above guest may be noise if you stay in a lower level room. The breakfast could be better.

Definitely will return

We had a very good stay at Desert Rose. The room was clean and the breakfast was adequate. We liked the week night social hour as well. The proximity of the rooms to parking is a huge plus for us! Would definitely stay again!

Worst place we’ve ever stayed

Hotel seemed like it was converted from apartments, odd layout and we felt distanced from everything they offered. The place looks nice, it’s a "wolf in sheeps clothing" very deceptive. The continental breakfast ends at 9am, very early by Vegas standards. It was near impossible to get housekeeping, we had to call and request it every day. When they did come it was around 3pm. The pool/hot tub close early. They only had 3 DVD players for 300 rooms. We were told we had to call daily to see if one was ava. that we could check out, finally after 3 days we purchased one of our own. The beds were horrific! Claim to be king size. Length of king, Width of queen. The mattress was as hard as the floor (we tried both). The bed had one foam-like blanket, one. The service, well there really wasn’t any. We felt like we weren’t a guest but a nusiance. Don’t gamble your hotel stay, at this place you will lose.

Going back again in October 2010

Once again my stay at the Desert Rose was excellent. My check in was fast even though I was running late, the rooms were clean and ready when I got there and I was happy with the quiet stay away from the noise of the casinos even though I was just a stone throw from the MGM Grand.

Good to have a place without a casino.

Desert Rose was just off the strip and no casino so okay place to stay if want to be away from noise and smoke. The continental breakfast was not satisfying. Only cereal and toast or bagel. Poor selection. Rooms were nice.

Very Impressed

Great hotel for those who want a quieter atmosphere and want to stay in a smoke free non gambling place. Loved not being on the strip with the noise and yet close walking distance to the monorail to give you access to all that Las Vegas offers. Breakfast is adequate to get you going in the am, employees all very nice and helped us store our bags (arrived early) and get our boarding passes. Only problem was the shower - kept going hot and cold but they said it was getting worked on in the next few days. Only place I will ever stay in Vegas again.

Incredible value

Desert Rose is a timeshare located directly behind the Hooter’s (old San Remo) Hotel. I got a one bedroom unit for less than half the cost of a 2-star hotel directly on the strip during a busy convention week. The unit had a separate kichenette and living room, and everything was modern and in working order. The staff was efficient and friendly, and I would have no reservations about staying there agin. It’s not on the strip, but the MGM monorail station is less than a 5 minute walk away.

No smoking, no gambling, no problems!

What a find--a non-smoking hotel without the usual casino in the lobby, with free breakfast, only a short distance from the Strip, at a reasonable rate. The hotel was secluded enough to feel apart from the traffic and crowds on the Strip. The Strip provided many opportunities for shopping, gambling, dining, and sightseeing, and the Desert Rose offered a respite when we were ready for a change of pace--peace and quiet.

Had a great time!

The Desert Rose was very nice. We had two bedrooms - so there was plenty of room for all. The continental breakfast was a good way to get the day started. Although it wasn’t warm enough to use the pool or hot tub it would be a great amenity in warmer weather. The location allowed us access to the monorail - so moving back and forth to the strip was easy. We had a great time.

Not impressed

We were given a room at the back end of the hotel room 3224. The room smelled moldy-particularly the bathroom in the master suite. The breakfasts might have been nice but we were far from the main lobby and the folks staying there grabbed large portions of food (not replaced) not enabling us to get much. We ended up going out for breakfast. The cleaning service refused to replace the shampoo soap, paper towels, dishwashing detergent etc even after requesting replacement. Internet access was slow. Our dirty towels were not always removed after they tidied the room. The wheels were broken in the dishwasher making it difficult to load and unload the dishes. I repeated the issues I experienced at the front desk when checking out and got overall aloof nonchalance. Very disappointing.

Can’t Wait for our Next Visit!!!

We have stayed at the Desert Rose 2 times. We are going back for our 3rd time! We love that it has been consistantly wonderful each time. The staff is excellent. We like that we have a full kitchen and sep. bedroom. The strip is a close walk away (with all the good food in Vegas, it doesn’t hurt to walk it off!) The pool is clean and kid friendly. Best of all... no slot machines! Quiet when you want it to be quiet! Home away from home!

Good for families

This hotel is really a walk over to the main strip. But it is away from all the nicer clubs. IF you have a family this is the ideal hotel to stay at a low cost. It is a non-smoking facility and has a pool area and a really nice lobby. The rooms are small but not as small as other hotels. Really decently priced.

Highly recommend with close proximity to the Strip

Room was clean and everything in order. Breakfast consisted mostly of cereals, bread and fruit, but who can argue with free. Hotel security was good as all doors required a room key swipe to gain access. Would stay again.

"We would go back"

Good hotel, very spacious-almost like a small apt. Laundry facilities, Hotel activities, close to the Strip. Clean room and hotel is secure, you need a key to even get into the outside court to get to your room. We would stay again.
