Omni San Francisco Hotel

Great hotel.

We were very impressed with the hospitality at this hotel. Hotel staff was helpful, fun and very accomodating to our needs.

OMNI

The Omni Hotel is in a great location. It is very clean. The staff greet you with open arms and a smile. It is a luxury hotel so expect to pay for everything in addition to your room. Parking is a bit expensive, but that is SF!

San Francisco’s best hotel

Everything was perfect. They gave our daughters a welcome gift, which was a great detail, as was the milk and cookies they sent up for them both nights (the best cookies ever!). We traveled down the coast of California, and this was definitely the best hotel. The people were all kind and helpful in every way possible. There was hot cider and cookies/fruit in the lobby. Also, 2 blocks away from Chinatown, and a short walk from Union Square.

The people are very courteous and accomodating.You feel your so special, they open the door for you when you get in and out of the hotel.They treat you like king and queen.Staff are very helpful.The hotel ambiance is beautiful especially the lobby.However, the parking valet is expensive.

A great place to stay

A wonderful experience. Hotel staff knowledgeable and very friendly. Room was very clean and beautiful. i have recommended the Omni to many others that I have told about our trip.

Great Stay In San Francisco

Great room, very comfortable. Excellent bed and bathroom. Staff at Front Desk was great and recommended good restaurants within walking distance. Patchy situation with bell staff (porters). One was great, One was no so good ( did not explain the parking situation well), the last one was really "ugly". Unfortunately he was the one who bid us goodbye by slamming the car door. If you work in a hotel and don’t get a tip because you have not done anything, don’t work there, be a road worker.

Wonderful Time

Had a wonderful stay at the Omni! When we first arrived we found our room had two double beds instead of the king size we reserved for our honeymoon! The gentleman at the front desk was amazing and quickly resolved our issue. The rest of the stay we were treated like king and queen. The staff was absolutely fabulous! Highly recommend!!

Great place, super location.

This is a lovely hotel, very clean, staff were really friendly and helpful. Probably the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. Comfy robes in the closet and all for a great price. The location is perfect. The trolley stops right outside the hotel, China town is just one block up the street and the ferry terminal is a short walk down the street. Just one block over is a pedestrian area full of restaurants all with outdoor seating. If we return to San Francisco this is where we will stay for sure.

Use public transportation, parking is rare and VERY expensive. example: a place close to the hotel charged $55 a day for a full sized car. Public transportation is great and fun, be sure to gete a "MUNI" pass and then ride unlimited whereever you want - the hotel has them, you can charge them to your room - easy!

Great service

We had a really nice time at the Omni hotel. Everyone was very friendly and went out of their way to help us in any way possible. Our housekeeper was friendly and left us a personalized note each day and did a great job cleaning our room. and greeted us when we passed her in the hall. Loved the comfy bed, and the high shower head (my husband is 6’3’ and always has trouble with low shower heads. Mini bar prices were outragous, but they usally are. We didn’t get a room with a view but oh well, we did get a good deal at 2nd night 1/2 price. Maybe next time we’ll get a upgrade. A little far from union square but the trolley goes right by the hotel every 15 minutes. Buy the city pass if you plan on doing 3 or more things, it saves you money and gives you unlimited rides on the muni and trolley.

Excellent Service - Great Location.

Stayed at this hotel - during a very busy weekend in SF (Women’s Marathon, Music Festival) and was very pleased with the stay. The hotel is a short 5-block walk from the BART station, and centrally located to many of SF’s attractions. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel room was very nice, clean. The only issue we had was that the key cards stopped working the second day, but this was quickly corrected by the hotel staff. SF is one of my favorite cities, and I will be back, and will stay at the Omni again if I have the opportunity.

Omni is a conveniently located, well appointed hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Our room was nicely decorated,clean,quiet and fairly priced. I would definitely go back.

Great Hotel

My husband and I spent a weekend in San Fran at the Omni. The hotel was very nice, and we were very happy with our choice in hotel. We had no issues while we were there and everyone at the front desk was very helpful. We did have to wait until 3pm to check in, but they will take your bags if you get there early and want to walk around. You can easily take the Bart from the airport and walk from the Montgomery stop to the Hotel, saves on a cab ride. As other reviews said the bar at the Hotel is expensive so don’t plan on drinking there unless you plan on spending lots of $$$. Overall great stay, I would go back in a heart beat.

Loved It

The Omni really impressed me. The service by the front desk & the doormen was wonderful. The location of the hotel was centrally located to all activities. The amenities in the room were great. I would definitely recommend the Omni and I will stay at other Omni hotels in my future travels

The Alcatraz tour is a MUST!!!! Pier 39 is fun. Take the combination bus tour of the city & Muir Woods.

Great Hotel

We were very impressed with the Omni S.F. Everyone was extremely helpful, it’s location was great. Our only complaint was that our room was on a smoking optional floor and it was obvious that our room had been smoked in. When we asked to be moved we were told that there were no rooms on non-smoking floors, but that they would put an ionizer in our room to help clear the air. The ionizer was in our room when we returned, but it had not been turned on. Once we turned it on, it helped immensely. I would not let that deter me from returning or from recommending this hotel to others.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Buy the three day MUNI pass so you can hop on and off of the cable cars and trolleys. The cable car runs right in front of the hotel. The trolleys were great when the cable cars were super busy.

We had a very pleasant experience at the Omni Hotel. ALL the staff were very pleasant and attentive to our needs. All the pleasantries were unexpected but very appreciated. We will definitely return soon.

Well worth it

Being from Cleveland, Ohio this was my very first time visiting the West coast. The choices were either Seattle or San Fran. My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights at the end of August and it was a very pleasant experience. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is on California Street and this location is right in the heart of everything. Chinatown is a 3-4 block walk, Fishermans Warf is about 10 min. away, and all the sights of the city surround the hotel such as Nob Hill and Union Square. CARRY A JACKET. To me it was a bit cool especially in thew evenings. We went on a cruise under tge Golden Gate Bridge and around Alcatraz and it is really cool out there, but we enjoued it tremendously. If you fly into San Fran Int. Airport like we did and took the Airtran to the rental car facility, be prepared to a large room full of travelers lined up for thier cars. Our rental car was with Hertiz and the line was long but it went smoothly and had the car in about 45-50 min.IIf you are a jogger like me I ran down California to Market St. to Embarcadaro to Pier 39 and back. I got lost on the way back but what a great run!! I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Traveler's tip

Be aware that there really is no place close to the hotel to park your car so we decided to use the valet service. The cost was $45 per night but the guy let us have it for $30 a night. They open the doors for you upon entering and exiting. Be sure to tip them well if you can afford it. The valet service may seem expensive but is was well worth it. You call the number on your ticket and are told your car will be down in 10-15 min.

Pleasantly surprised - outstanding service!!

We weren’t sure what to expect since we got this hotel for a great rate - but as soon as the handsomely dressed doormen let you in - it’s beautiful - elegant stairway down into the lobby with a great service staff waiting to greet you and get you checked in. It’s in a great location with easy access to everything within walking distance. Great fruit and flavored water in the lobby every day. We’ll be back!!

Room and service was excellent. Its right next to Chinatown. However, I don’t recommend you bring a car since parking is not available except valet or across the street which you have to pay additional for.

Great Hotel

Very nice hotel. Clean, quiet and a good location for access to all areas. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Fresh fruit basket in the lobby every night. Didn’t try the in-house restaurant so I can’t comment on the food, but judging from the extremely high prices on the menu and the number of persons I actually saw dining there, it does not appear to be very popular. Our room was on the end of an upper floor and one of the quietest I have ever had.

Long San Francisco Weekend

This was the first trip to San Francisco which included reservations at the Omni Hotel. This Hotel is just as advertised. Excellent accomodations, excellent service. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Staying at the San Francisco Omni multiplied the pleasure of our visit to this beautiful city. Another big plus with the Omni Hotel location is the ease with which you can tour the city using the cable car and trolley car system. There is a cable car stop right outside the Omni. This hotel is right next to China Town, 7 blocks from the Italian District and a short cable car ride to Union Square with all of the shopping. Plus for the price of a cocktail you can view San Francisco Bay from the 52nd floor of the Bank of America building right across California Street from the Omni Hotel. Access to Fisherman’s Wharf is simple using either the cable car or trolley car.

Traveler's tip on dining

For dining try The Empress Of China in China Town. A little pricy for chinese but the food and service were excellent with a upper floor view of San Francisco. Try Scoma’s on Fisherman’s Wharf for great seafood.

Relaxing at the Omni

We very much enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Had breakfast both days in Bob’s Steakhouse. Pricey but convenient and the food was very good. The service was even better. We will stay there again for sure.

Excellent hotel

Concierge was very helpful in giving dining suggestions, and help in getting rental car back to the airport (including best place to gas up the car).
