"A jewel box of a hotel"
Stayed here for a weekend in November 2015. This is a lovely little old-style boutique hotel in an excellent location - convenient to shopping, dining, Fenway Park etc. The staff are excellent, very helpful and friendly even at 4am during our checkout. The lobby is gorgeous & smells delightful. Also liked the City Table & City Bar dining options in the hotel. I will warn you that this hotel, while pretty and "antique", is not for people who place great importance on spacious accommodations or the newest best everything. The rooms were on the small side and the bathrooms are quite cramped (our toilet was diagonally positioned between the vanity & shower because there wasn't really enough room). The shower head was too low for my 6'4 husband. The elevators, being older, are slow. I wouldn't let these things deter you from staying at the Lenox because it really is a lovely place, but you should be warned that this is not a super new sparkling hotel.

"Quaint and Comfortable"
For an older building, this little beauty of a hotel impressed me! The room was top notch. Kitchen had everything we needed. The common room downstairs had excellent teas and snacks. And last but not least the location was perfect for exploring the Freedom Trail and other areas on foot.

"Don't tell anyone"
The principal problem with the Newbury Guest House is getting a reservation; it's almost always fully booked weeks in advance -- and with good reason. The charges are reasonable, the venue is human and friendly, the staff courteous and helpful. Despite name, the NGH is not really a bed-and-breakfast; it's a small hotel, and a good one.

"Grand old hotel of Boston"
Beautiful hotel in the heart of Boston evoking days from a bygone era. Really enjoyed cocktails and food in their bar, a very lively spot with great bartenders (mixing fantastic cocktails!). The food is excellent as well. My room was a bit small but no unexpected in an older hotel. Nonetheless, it was extremely comfortable and quiet. There is excellent shopping right across the street with Neiman Marcus and a host of other upscale shops in the adjacent mall. The hotel is within walking distance of many excellent restaurants. I would return here without hesitation.

"excellent place to stray in Copley Square"
My sister and I stayed here for four days for a shopping and dining trip. The Colonnade was an excellent choice. Well-located and in the middle of Copley Square with easy parking, we had no complaints. The Brasserrie Jo off the lobby is a friendly, welcoming place to go for a meal or a late night drink or snack. The rooms were clean, quiet, warm (it was cold and windy outside), and well- furnished. The housekeeping staff was on top of things- no complaints. We both thought this is the place we will stay on future Boston trips.
