Slopeside with a view

Our family of 7 adults and 2 kids has stayed in this home for the past two years. We love the home and it's slopeside walking access to Bear Mountain. View of Bear mountain out the front windows and deck and plenty of wildlife out the dining window. Loaded with games, TV's and bedrooms, it's where we will continue to spend our annual family winter trip.

Solid spot hear Bear Mountain

This place is literally across the street from the slopes, very welcoming home that made us all feel safe, warm and let us enjoy our annual familys' trip. The home is well stocked and everything worked as intended. The fireplace could use better instructions; it wasn't clear to us if we were able to use it or not so we didn't. The review I saw about the house looking beat-up just didn't reflect to me in the actual property. I saw a solid home, well taken care of, able to support multiple families at once without issue. We would stay here again.

It was just ok

Cabin has been abused and beat up looked like it’s a party cabin for skiers would not stay again I’m picky and did not enjoy our stay we stay at a lot of cabins in big bear and I understand we are in the woods but I have never seen so many large spiders in a cabin before alive and dead. We stayed in a lake front cabin back to back with this one and we did not see one spider alive or dead in that cabin.also I was charged additional fees from the management company that I was also charged by vrbo so I do not recommend either. 2 days prior to check in I was sent papers to sign and then I was told I have to pay additional fees to the management company that I was also charged by vrbo not cool. Would not stay here again

friends at the BB Lake

the first surprise was that kitchen faucet handle was completely loose! so we had to manage around it to work. secondly we expected some minimum amount of tea or coffee, sugar, salt, and pepper for the guest but there was nothing. this doesn't cost much but makes guests happy. havening said that, we found the property clean and orderly.

Bear Mt. Beauty

Property was in a nice and accessible location. Easy check in service with friendly and helpful staff. The house was clean with everything in working order. Plenty of clean linen, towels, and cooking utensils. Ample parking in property driveway. Overall we had a very nice stay.

Fun Ski/Snowboard Spot

We really enjoyed the location during the recent snowstorm and easy access to the lifts and mountain. There were fun activities in the house, and we had a great time.

Great time

Had a great time taking our teenage daughter and four friends. The two full size refrigerators were really convenient. Plenty of pots, pans, and dishes. Supply of basic spices, salt, pepper, oil could make it even better. If snow is in the forecast, make sure you bring chains. Had to put them on just to pull up into the driveway. Location is right next to the slopes but a little too far to walk. Great place. Would stay again

Beautiful cabin

Beautiful cabin we went for my father‘s memorial. My father lived up there for about 16 years and we have been going since we were children. The whole staff was very friendly and accommodating. The cabin was very clean. The only thing I would recommend is softer bedding and one of the mattresses in one of the rooms was very hard and uncomfortable. There were numerous spiders but we did let them now and I’m sure that that won’t be an issue for the next guest. We definitely would come and stay again we were very happy.

Comfortable and cozy!

This property was really beautiful. Well decorated and laid out. Needed a few more items in the kitchen (hand & dish soap, paper towels …) if I’m being nit picky but we really enjoyed staying at this property. Beds were comfortable it was clean and loved that it was pet friendly. Great location. We will definitely be back.

VRBO is a poor middleman

Although this property was spot on for it's great location, we did NOT find it up to par for the amount paid! This property is managed by Big Bear Vacations and any communication you have on the VRBO app is coming directly from VRBO and not Big Bear Vacations (be warned). A couple of days before arrival, I sent a message on the VRBO app asking for an early check-in of 12 noon instead of 4pm. The response was that we could check the status on the day of check-in and determine then. On the day of check-in, I sent a text on the app this time for a 2pm check-in. Eventually, I was told that the "vendor" was contacted and it was confirmed that the cabin should be ready around 2pm (each time the messages were signed by Big Bear Vacations). However, upon arrival at the Big Bear Vacations rental office, the front desk associate said an early check-in was not possible during their peak season, but he would try to do his best to see if it was possible. After showing him my text on the VRBO app, he took a pic of it and said that VRBO should not have made that promise and that communication was not directly from Big Bear Vacations. Ultimately, we waited until about 3:50pm to check-in :( We had food items that needed to go in the refrigerator promptly! The house appears much smaller in person and we found it to be dirty. We have pictures of the hand prints left on walls and dog fur, pine needles, and hair and lint on sheets! The Big Bear Vacations cleaning crew fell short of their duties! We did request a cleaning and sheet replacement the next day and it was just minimal and barely sufficient. Except for the King-sized bed and bathroom which was beautiful, we found the other beds to be very uncomfortable (hard and lumpy) and the queen bedroom on the lower level was an ice cave. The kitchen was not well-equipped. We needed a liquid measuring cup and it had only one large skillet. If you want to do pancakes and bacon for a group, good luck. Although we had a good time in Big Bear and made the most of our time as a family, this property is sub-par and waaay overpriced! We had beautiful accommodations in premium South Lake Tahoe in 2019 and paid much less for 4 nights!

Great place. Great location.

We stayed for three nights before Christmas. The house us beautiful with a terrific view of the ski slope literally across the street. House was very clean and well equipped. Beds were comfortable. Check in was smooth. Would definitely stay again. Two suggestions: better coffee maker and a fence in the backyard for dogs.
