"This place is such a hidden gem. I was astounded at how well maintained the property was given its size. Absolutely beautiful! It was like stepping back in time to the summer camp in Dirty Dancing! The other side of our cabin was also rented out, but insulation was great, we couldn't even hear the other guests. Everything was cute and comfy and immaculately clean. It stormed (really bad) 2 of our nights and we just sat on the front porch watching, so relaxing. I cannot wait to come back here again with my kids! We'll definitely be back this summer!"

"This served as a perfect base of operations for visiting the Shut Ins and seeing Ironton’s Mountain Music Festival. Being on the backside of Shepard Mountain it’s super quiet and separated from the world… but town is only a few minutes away around on the other side of the base of the mountain. It had everything you would want in an experience if you were camping, like a fire pit, endless stars, and all the quiet of being remote in the forest alone…. But inside it’s nice the cabin , clean, all freshly redone with all of the comforts of home including WIFI and AC. We loved our stay and will be back. Thanks Katie!!"

"This cabin was perfect for our long weekend spent hiking some of Missouri’s nicest state parks. We had five adults and had plenty of room. It was beautifully decorated, perfectly supplied, clean and comfortable. The owner gave us his phone number and offered to help in any way. He was very prompt to answer when we had any questions. There were many little touches that we appreciated: books, games, lots of appliances and lots of bath linens. There was also plenty of room for us to set up our outdoor games as well. It was conveniently located near all the state parks which we wanted to visit, which included Johnson Shut-Ins, Elephant Rocks and Taum Sauk. Many thanks to the Walker Family!"

"We cane for the total eclipse and couldn’t have picked a better place. The community is friendly, the parks are fun and the house was the oerfect balance of old and new. The beds are comfortable and the firepit makes for great storytelling and s’mores. Highly recommend."

"We had a lovely time at the cabin! We stayed for the total eclipse and enjoyed a quiet private viewing in the woods! Our two little dogs were very happy at the property. The road leading down is a little bit rough, but that is the last 3 mile leg of the journey. You can hike up a nearby hill for cell reception if you need to connect, but the best part of this cabin was unplugging and relaxing. The short walk down the road leads to the large gravel riverbank. Fun for fossil hunting, skipping rocks, and fishing! Thank you for your hospitality!"
