“The location of Mourneview could not be faulted. That's the first thing I noticed when approaching the house. The welcome from Lyn was friendly, however we never saw her again until we were checking out. The house itself was lovely but needed updating in places. The shower pressure was dire, not much more than a trickle. The kettle ought to be replaced with a full sized cordless one and why guesthouses and hotels continue to use the horrible little plastic pots of milk, god only knows. The beds……

“A must go midway place if you travel from Londonderry to Dublin (or vice versa). Reasonable price & good food in the bar & restaurant. If you drive there, your car can be parked next to your room, extremely convenient. ”

“An absolute gem of a hotel. Staff are superb, the grounds are fantastic and the food is amazing. The breakfast is top tier with incredible homemade chutneys and various fruits soaked in delicious syrups along with freshly made hot food. We had dinner at the restaurant - proper, high quality ingredients - genuine quality. It also has an extensive wine selection (definitely not the normal bland wine lists you normally find). “Food great, bar great, room good. Problem..no wi fi working and normal phone service non existent in the building. Had to step outside. No tv remote. Only had shower gel in shower, nothing in sink. No iron but there was ironing board!”

“This is a great place to stay with a pub close by owned by the same family. The lodges are beautifully designed and well furnished. The main bedroom is very spacious with a generously sized bed; the bed settee was also used during our stay and made for a very comfortable night’s sleep. The host was very welcoming and friendly and we enjoyed visiting the pub whilst we were there. It’s an easy drive to either Newry (where we were visiting family) or Carlingford and the Greenway. “Rooms were clean, but noisy, the windows did not open fully, and it was hot inside, and the hotel did not have A/C in rooms. Only given two bath towels. Bed was comfortable, but pillows flimsy. Great bar and pub, good for dinner, but breakfast was so so. The staff was okay”
