"Because of a complete shutdown of the Reno-Tahoe airport on February 24th, 2026 SWA flight from San Diego was canceled along with all other airlines. SWA was not able to rebook flights until the next night at 7:30pm. Hotels.com wanted to charge for a late cancellation fee on 2/24/26 due to failure to cancel at least 48 hours and the Holiday Inn Express in Lake Tahoe would not waive the charge. "I recently stayed in the Plaza building, and had an awesome time. The condo itself was in great condition and clean. The convenience of being one quick shuttle ride away from Stagecoach was the best. One minor thing was that the single bedroom smelled a bit like smoke, which was odd because the rest of the apartment didn’t. We stayed during winter so there was no need for AC, which was great. We didn’t take advantage of all of the other amenities because we didn’t have time. But we would def return! Also, all of the staff we encountered were polite—including guys who ran the shuttle, they were the best. "

"The Forest Suites is in a Great Location. You can walk, in ski boots, to the Gondola in less than fuve minutes. The daily breakfast, which is included in the resort fee, is pretty good with Real scrambled eggs with sausage/bacon, hash browns, etc."
