"Barhroom and the room needed updating and work done. Trim and wood was very worn/weathered, couldn’t find channels on TV Roku, pictures on internet looked better than actual place, bedding was old and had stains, bed was comfortable, pool was closed, staff were helpful. Whole really does need a remodel. For $150 I was expecting a little bit nicer place. It worked ok since we just needed a place to sleep."

"The property was nice and as advertised. We used the paddleboat, but first had to drain it; the hull was pretty much filled with water and it took quite a while to prepare it for use, much more than simple bailing of the wells was required. The remote control unit for the fireplace in the main room is faulty: it took forever to get the thing to turn on, and we couldn't make it heat at all. We used the switch at the bottom to turn it off because the remote would not turn the fireplace off. The heating system did not seem to respond to what was entered on the thermostat: we set the thermostat to 72, but most of the time the temperature read 67, which was a bit cool. There were not enough blankets for the six of us; my son had to sleep in his clothes because the house wouldn't heat up and there were no more blankets that we could find. On the plus side, the kitchen was well-equiped, though you should mention what type of coffee-makers are at the house: we would have brought Keurig cups if we knew that was what the house had. I was glad to see the life jackets for the boat. Once we got the fireplace turned on, we enjoyed the ambiance that it provided, even if we couldn't get it to produce heat. The setting of the property is tranquil and enjoyable, and there is plenty of room for a large crowd. We did have a problem getting the door lock to function properly, though that might have been due to operator error - it took several attempts to get the door to unlock and unlock."

"Tom was very responsive to the questions we had ahead of time. Great property. Great layout for board games w the family. Kitchen was large and easy to work in. Although many steps to the lake, the steps were well constructed and so it was easy to get to, even w 3 kayaks. No curtains/shades on bedroom windows, which was a little off putting to our adult kids, but they rigged sheets to hang which seemed fine. Melrose was close w a great grocery store and firewood (check w Tom on that, as there wasn’t any at the fire pit.). Great stay! Kids loved the weekend."
