"From the very convenient location just off I-77(but couldn’t hear the traffic) to the well lit parking lot, excellent staff, exceptional room, wide variety of breakfast food (exceptionally clean and tidy bkfst area), and the great price…excellent!!"

"My room was impeccably clean! I didn’t use the pool or hot tub so I can’t speak to that, but the breakfast was lovely! Nice offerings like Quaker oatmeal and decent bagels with flavored cream cheese options, quality yogurt—a refreshing surprise. Oh, and I loved having my name on the TV screen when I walked into my room, weary from travel (and a prior terrible stay at quality Inn for the same price)"

"The hotel has a real character and sense of coziness that you just don’t expect or find very easily. First, Marion is a small, but historic town off of Interstate 81 and the General Francis Marion is right in the middle of a small fairly well preserved down town. It is just a few miles off the interstate. The General Marion is small, with period charm, the rooms, while not gigantic are well appointed, clean and comfortable. Loved the lobby, the staff and the Swamp Fox restaurant (that was General Marion’s nickname). We’ll definitely be back again!"

"Did not feel safe or clean. Shower head coming off the wall. Entire hotel and surroundings very run down. Nothing like as on expedia site. Very disappointed. And scared."

"Room was supposed to be non smoking, but smelled like the inside of an ashtray. When the heat came on, the cigarrette smell coming out was overwhelming. Carpet was filthy (turned my white socks brown) and had a lot of hair on it. Hair (not ours) also on the bathroom counter. We knew going in this was an older property, but didn't expect it to be gross."
