Hilton Garden Inn Jackson Downtown

6/10 Okay

"The building is beautiful and full of character, especially for those who appreciate historic architecture. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. However, the property could benefit from additional maintenance. We noticed some broken floor tiles and other signs of wear that detracted from the overall experience. The downtown location was convenient and within walking distance of Iron Horse Grill, which was one of the highlights of our trip. On the downside, there was very little activity in the area during the evening. One weekend night around 10:00 PM, we wanted to visit the hotel bar, but it was already closed. Overall, a pleasant stay with excellent staff and a beautiful historic building, but some maintenance updates and more evening amenities would improve the experience."

"Let me start by saying that the staff here are all wonderful! Everyone was welcoming and friendly. However, this property is not befitting the Hilton brand. You can tell it was once a very nice hotel but years of neglect have taken their toll. There is only one functional elevator. The air in our room was barely functional and the area was under a heat advisory so it was at times very uncomfortable. We didn’t use the pool because the water was very cloudy. We did enjoy sitting at the bar for happy hour and the two ladies working were a lot of fun! The worst thing was when a guy approached my husband in the parking lot while I checked in saying he had just gotten out of jail and needed $10 for the night. Needless to say that made us feel unsafe and we won’t likely be returning to this location."

"The cleanliness and overall condition of this hotel was very disappointing. Upon entering the room, I immediately noticed spots and stains on the floor that appeared to have been overlooked during cleaning. The bed dust ruffle was also visibly dirty, which raised concerns about the housekeeping standards. Even more concerning were the bed sheets. Instead of appearing fresh and clean, they were a dingy gray color rather than the crisp white sheets guests would reasonably expect. This made the room feel unclean and uncomfortable. The lack of maintenance extended beyond the guest room. In the hallway, the wall trim was hanging loose and appeared damaged, creating an unkempt appearance throughout the property. For the price paid, I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and upkeep. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet basic expectations, and I hope management addresses these issues to improve the experience for future guests."
