Our group of 10 consisted of two 70-somethings, four 40-somethings, one teenager, and three preteens. There were ample activities for everyone, despite the fact that the unseasonably chillly weather kept us indoors more than we had anticipated. Nonetheless, mornings spent watching herons, otters, and other local “wildlife,” coupled with chill afternoons made for a great stay. The location on the river was perfect. We enjoyed their paddle boards, kayaks, floats, and the hot tub with amazing views of the redwoods towering above. SomeWent swimming in the river. Also We had 10 people. There are three bedrooms with queen or king beds upstairs, comfortable bed and each with an emsuite bath. The kitchen was large with plenty of pots, pans. Three coffee makers for different preferences. One Keurig and two Mr.Coffee types. Large Dining table that fit all of us. Downstairs were one bedroom with queen bed and extra couch outside of it. En-suite bath. The final bedding area worked really well for a family of four with two young children. It was a lock off for the parents bedroom with the attached bedroom worth 2 twin beds for their kids. They all shared a bath. The place would be a little hard to find in the dark so be sure to arrive in the light. Very convenient toGuerneville with full grocery store. We went wine tasting nearby. Also hiked in the Armstrong Redwoods State Park nearby. We drove to Bodega Nay, about ½ hour away to see seals and to get great crab dishes at local restaurants there. Absolutely perfect stay in Monte Rio, we had exactly 12 adults sleeping there and this house slept us all very comfortably (not all houses claiming to sleep 12 can actually back that up, this one does!). All the amenities you need, tons of fun activities in the house (access to boats and the river dock was absolutely wonderful) and plenty of space to spread out. Most of all, the place has a wonderful character and the history and warmth of the house is a delight. Loved the views, hot tub and river access. The game room was a hit! We had many pool and ping pong tournaments. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything you could ever need for a large group. Plenty to do for everyones interest . Cal State parks close by for hiking . River & toys were great , we brought a couple of SUP with us . Kitchen has EVERYTHING you need . Four families with 12 people. The location is great. Pet friendly. My little Pomeranian absolutely adored the sunroom, which doubled as office space for me. Great light and views throughout the day. Plenty of options for getting on the river. The property manager, Naomi was excellent. Quick turnaround on email and phone. It’s a huge house. Plenty of towels, dishes, blankets. Bring your own shower care products. But if you do forget anything, there’s a Safeway and CVS nearby. Would love to stay here again and make this an annual tradition! ##### Anjee C.
