The hotel is beautiful with old architecture and was grand in its hey day. Staff was friendly. My room was great, clean, pretty, quiet (and the hotel was full!). However, the neighborhood is awful! Homelessness abounds and there are not any good restaurants nearby, not the fault of the hotel but ...
The room was nice and clean. The service was great. But WIFI didn't work in some area of the room.
The property is beautiful !! The room is spacious and so clean. Great service from the staff answering all my question desires and needs.
The only thing I would change about this room is the coffee maker needs to be easily operated. This room had a professional type coffee maker but no instructions on how to use.
A great location - super charming - love it ! Hope to one day stay in the penthouse and enjoy the roof top patio - did not make sense to do so in February but hope to visit again soon in the summer !
The elevator took 30 minutes to get to your room because of the rooftop bar and no easy stair access.
The service was friendly and prompt. The only downside is they are redoing the bathrooms, and unfortunately it causes noise. They stopped by 5pm which was good. But if you are hoping to take a nap, during the day, it might be too loud until they are finished. I'm sure the new bathrooms will be amazing, ...
Close to everything. Great staff, handy to public transportation, clean and well layered out.
It's a very quaint property with Victorian era decor. It's cozy to sit by the lit fireplace and read the paper or your e-book. It's only a couple blocks from Japantown, which we always enjoy visiting. There is limited parking across the street (for a fee, of course). The rooms are cozy but you hear ...
I like the location and the pool in the warmer months. This trip we were going for the most economical way. We good a good price using Expedia points for a double room. The view was not much but the room rate was great.

Property old and unique fun . But they control the heat from down stairs . Not good in the winter, they turn it off . Can’t brush your teeth in the sink they have a shelf over it .
Cutest little hotel, great amenities and the staff was nothing short of perfection. We especially loved Cornelius.
Location was perfect, close to activities and many modes of transportation; room was clean and updated; staff was helpful and kind; all for a fair price. Always remember where your traveling to, SF is an old funky city with lots of character and lots of characters.
The property is old but beautifully maintained and decorated. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The refrigerator is stocked with complimentary water and sodas. There are robes in each room for your use. There is a wine reception in the evening, breakfast in the morning, and homemade cookies. ...
Perfect location! Great staff! Nice rooms. Love the big mirrors in the room
This is a very creative and comfortable hotel in a great location. Our room was small but immaculate. The restaurant onsite has fantastic food. Hotel staff were fabulous.
Price was very reasonable for a Saturday night in San Francisco. Hotel does not have a workout room. I would have liked a gym or access to a gym.
