My room was clean, comfortable, a little like staying at Grandma’s house. The breakfast was fabulous, many choices of delicious fruits, breakfast pastries, eggs, even quiche with fresh coffee, all to be enjoyed in the lovely dining room. Good location too, close to BART.

Beautiful place to stay. I can't put into words how much I loved the rooftop patio. The room was comfortable and beautifully decorated along with the rest of the house. It was quiet even for a street facing room. Rich jewel toned colors everywhere in the place. The staff were helpful and the host was kind and very sweet. They allowed me to store my luggage there even after I had checked out because I had a late flight. Breakfast has enough options every morning to be filling, and guests can access the parlor for hot coffee, tea, cocoa after hours. The small jacuzzi in the back was wonderful after hiking around San Francisco's notorious hills. It was an easy walk to 24th & Mission BART, and there was also a convenience store down the block. I will absolutely be staying here again the next time I'm headed to SF 🖤✨️

A nice inn with some notable nuances. First, I appreciated the staff - courteous, helpful, and friendly. And it was a decent option considering how high prices and limited availability were during the conference I attended in SF. However, the hotel room was a bit of a surprise. I knew beforehand that each room was unique, but I didn’t realize the rooms lacked some of the standard features you’d expect. My room was located in the second house (the inn consists of two houses connected by a backyard). We had to walk through the exposed backyard to reach the room and then go up a staircase. The room itself was spacious with a queen size bed but not ideal for more than one person. There were two of us, and the bathroom setup offered very little privacy: while the toilet was separate from the bath and sink area, it was open-air with only a curtain as a door and poor ventilation (thank goodness there were windows). On the positive side, the room had access to a small balcony, which was nice, and we really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast in the morning. In terms of location, the inn is convienently located on a decent street that felt safe, but the nearest public transportation options are the train stations in the Mission District - areas that aren’t particularly safe to walk around, especially in the evening. I’d recommend using Waymo or Lyft for transportation instead.

The breakfast was great but the property really does feel its age. It has a musty smell and very dated inside. I get that it’s an aesthetic choice and in some ways it’s quite charming, but also slightly creepy! The mission district is also horrendous for drug addicts roaming the streets which we didn’t realise. You don’t feel unsafe as such, but it’s just very bleak, very dirty and quite smelly in the surrounding area. Sorry to say that If I was to go back I’d stay somewhere else.

Feels like home

I've stayed at the Inn several times and continue to come back because it feels like a home, and that's because it was once someone's home. It couldn't be more charming! The staff is incredibly friendly and the owner is a funny jokester. Their breakfast is also delicious!

The parking arrangements didn’t work for us with a tiny little garage for 1-2 cars across the street so we parked in a close overnight garage . The traffic was a bit loud during the night and the outdoor hot tub jets were not working. The breakfast was quite lovely and the view from the rooftop was amazing ❤️

Decent example of a San Francisco “painted lady” but looks like it hasn’t been really updated for 50 or 60 years. This is typical of hotel mindset, think plumbing, electrical, lighting, will last forever. News flash: it doesn’t and Inn San Francisco is a good example of that problem.

Beautiful Victorian in the Mission

Beautiful hotel. Parking is a little problematic. Staffing needs to be a little less involved in guest activities. I felt a little too observed, but it is a wonderful hotel.
