“The lodge has a lot of potential and is set in a beautiful, peaceful location that’s perfect for a quiet getaway. The surroundings were serene, and the atmosphere was relaxing, which we really appreciated. However, the cleanliness was disappointing. There was noticeable dust on furniture and surfaces, and we found cobwebs in the corners of the room and near the ceiling. It made the space feel less well-maintained than expected. “The location was easy to find using satnav and the access is very easy. There is ample parking in a quiet location. An unusual feature is that all rhe rooms are purpose built modern units detached from the much older public house part which also houses the restaurant. There is also a beer garden area with some shade. The benefit of this layout is that there are no staircases or lifts to navigate to get to your room. My room was exceptionally large, and my first impression was how cool it felt……

“I cannot leave more than 2 stars because there is no on-site coin laundry machine, and none in walking distance. Staff was excellent; my room didn't have a mini-fridge, but they were willing to let me put food into their private one in staff break room. “The breakfasts were good, although they weren't included, but it was hard to get an evening meal. The room I stayed in was near the road and boiler/ air conditioning so it was very noisy so I slept very badly. The fire alarm went off early in the morning and we didn't get any information from the staff so didn't know if it was safe to return to our rooms. Although geographically it worked well I wouldn't stay there again.”

“What a lovely stay, we stayed in the print room which was the perfect size, very homely and welcoming, overlooking the market square. Communication with The Dial House Team was via WhatsApp, they responded straight away and were always happy to help. The location is perfect being 30 minutes drive from some great sights. Breakfast was lovely, huge croissants. Honestly can’t fault anything. I’d definitely recommend and would love to stay again, I want to try one of the other rooms as they’re all……
