“This property has one of the best views out there in Madeira, which is saying a lot. The sea in all its aggressive glory crashing into the base of your room, the cliffs standing defiant and the beautiful natural pools, its all very postcard. Unfortunately aggressive seas meant we could not enjoy the natural pools. The indoor pool ofcourse is no match for the natural pools but we had a great time here nonetheless. It is a bit of a difficult and scary ride up the hilly roads, but the location itself was gorgeous and truly a comfortable and peaceful stay. The indoor pool is quite large and was a highlight for us. The restaurant was also really good and we enjoyed our meals here. Our room was a little smaller than expected but well setup and comfortable. Nothing to complain about during a charming and peaceful stay !”

“This was a lovely hotel, with Katia ( the Hotel Manager) present and regularly asking if everything was satisfactory. The building , the rooms , spa and indoor / outdoor pools : all beautifully maintained. The breakfasts were wonderful ( cold buffet but also choice of omelets, eggs Benedict etc!) Dinners at either the golf club or Oxalis dining room very good . For us the outstanding features were the fantastic Palheiro gardens …..& the exceptional friendliness of all the staff ( Sonia,……
