The best time to go to Bjarnanes depends on whether you prefer the mild weather and extensive daylight of the summer or the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights during the colder, darker months. For most travelers, especially those wanting to explore the outdoors and experience Iceland's natural beauty without extreme cold, the summer months from June to August are ideal. During this period, temperatures are at their warmest, ranging from 10°C to 15°C (50°F to 59°F), and daylight is nearly continuous, with the sun barely setting. This allows for extended sightseeing and hiking in areas like the nearby Vatnajökull National Park, which is more accessible during these months. If your primary goal is to witness the Northern Lights, then the colder, darker months from September to April are your best bet. While the weather is more unpredictable with colder temperatures and a higher chance of snow, the long nights offer prime conditions for viewing the aurora borealis.
