It’s a great guesthouse with 4 restaurants next door, good parking, well equipped kitchen. The reception is a bit confusing they just leave the key for you and you have to work things out for yourself, their needs to be clearer instruction. Most people arriving were confused for a bit. I was lucky I arrived early at 2.30 pm so someone was there to explain a few things

Great location
We came in late and a little disorganized (our apologies to the host), but the host quickly and cheerfully checked us in and got us settled. The place was clean and appeared recently renovated. Centrally located in Hofn, near the harbor and visitors center, the hotel has great views over the water. Very reasonable price for the area. This may be because the road in front is being rebuilt (no noise trouble at night though), making it a little difficult to find the way to the hotel and the parking behind.

Great location, only one bathroom ;^\
Location is the best you can get in Hofn. Its a little annoying to have to take your shoes off every time to step in or out of the place. Be aware there is only one bathroom on the floor that is shared. The owner does make an effort to put a sign for all guests to respect the time in the bathroom and keep it short, but that doesn't mean all guests will be considerate. You may not be able to use the bathroom when you like, you may have to wait 30 or more minutes as we did. Seems like the owners can maybe do something more than one small unnoticeble paper in the bathroom. Perhaps say it multiple times during the checkin.... keep it short. Respect other guests. This is the main problem with the "guesthouse" situation in Iceland.

Highly Recommend
Great location just off of Ring Road with a beautiful view of the harbor. Plenty of restaurant options. Pakkus restaurant was exceptional. Hostess was attentive and facilities were very clean. Shared bathroom was not an issue and well maintained. Would definitely stay here again.
