Olcott Beach House on lake Ontario near Niagara Falls

"The view was amazing and the beach access was secluded from the town’s beach. Olcott is a very quiet village except during the 3 days they open their carousel.However, the beach shops are open each day at noon. The owners there are all so friendly and helpful. Boho Mermaid was where our child wanted to spend most of her vacation money. :)The carpets of the rental were freshly vacuumed and very clean. The interior was clean; however a musty smell on the bottom floor was present all week. The dishwasher, stove, and laundry machines all worked very well. The AC consisted of three window units: 1 top floor, 1 master bedroom, 1 living room. They did a fine job of keeping the interior at a pleasant temperature. Our interactions with the host were helpful and timely. The rental is not far from Niagara Falls and Canada. You should check out Fort Niagara if you have time/interest to learn about its amazing importance in history. Also, there are many places within ten minutes of the house to go cherry picking.Lockport, NY is a great place to discover a friendly local restaurant and brewery (Big Ditch). And if you have time to pop over to Canada, the Silversmith brewery is in a converted church."

Hamptons North - Serene Cottage on beautiful Lake Ontario

"Our visit was a lot of fun. The cottage is nicely renovated and the owner was very responsive to my questions. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of room to spread out or gather for meals and games at the table. The fire pit was the best part of the grounds as it's next to the lake. I gave the property a 4 for two reasons: there isn't A/C, and unfortunately coming off of a heatwave, the cottage was hot/humid the first night even with 6 fans going and windows open; secondly, I was attacked by baby flies upon arrival and they were everywhere, as were the gnats. Otherwise we had a great time and the Lyndonville fireworks were awesome! The town of Olcott is a short drive away and has lots of shops, a beach and huge park."
