"Clean room but common areas werenoo"

"The place is gorgeous but where do I begin? The service is well below the price. My room was clean bus musty smelling and freezing (would have been nice if they turned the heat on in advance considering it is Buffalo in winter). Only one person took orders at the restaurant and also only one person serving breakfast (and she was annoyed that I came down in the last 1/2 hour). No bell person to help at all. The lobby elevators are a big run-around with no one to help with your bags. The front entrance was littered with trash and had a chicken fence around it. There were bight construction lights shining through the windows. The receiver of the phone in my room was not charged so I could not answer the front desk when they called at 11am to let me know I had to check-out even though I asked for a late check out when I checked-in late the night before --and I was one of only 10 guests in the hotel… Overall I felt like a nuisance to the staff. The museum in the basement was very interesting but it feels the place is struggling financially and they are not going out of their way to make the guests happy. It would be shame if the hotel went broke."

"The hotel was generally clean, which I appreciated, but there were several issues that affected my stay. It took an unusually long time for the room to heat up, which made it uncomfortable, especially upon arrival. Additionally, the room itself is in need of updates. The ceiling was peeling, and the walls looked poorly painted, giving the space a worn and neglected feel. With some maintenance and renovations, this could be a much better experience."

"The hotel is changing hands and there are some improvements needed but they are working on them. My only complaint the phone number listed is not a direct line to hotel and they advertise contential breakfast but its a pay for breakfast"
