    The Space:

    Looking for a comfy spot to chill with friends or family? This cozy 3-bedroom log home has an awesome back porch where you can kick back and watch the hummingbirds. Set on 11 acres, it offers hiking trails, a labyrinth, fire pits, and even a vortex! Blueberries abound next to the house, when in season. Starlit skies make for some amazing stargazing.



    Whether you're looking to unwind in nature or spend quality time with loved ones, this place has everything you need for a memorable getaway.



    Guest Access:

    The property boasts a variety of outdoor amenities that promise a delightful experience for visitors. Among these are numerous hiking trails that wind through the picturesque landscape. Additionally, there is a meditation labyrinth that invites guests to embark on a transformative journey as they navigate its winding paths.



    In the evenings, the outdoor firepit provides a perfect gathering spot for friends and family, where they can share stories, roast marshmallows, and enjoy the warmth of a crackling fire under the stars.



    The Neighborhood:

    We are totally in the country and off of a gravel road. We have no light pollution and it's extremely peaceful.

    PET FRIENDLY: I have a small terrier named Murphy that lives on the land and he will definitely stop by to visit. There is also a Mainecoon cat named Zen Kitty on the property. Well behaved pets are allowed and we have a $25 pet fee per pet per stay.. The pet fee is payable with cash upon arrival or through Airbnb.. Please be courteous, and pick up your dog's poop and put in the outside trash receptacle.



    Interaction with Guests:

    I am always available and more than willing to offer my support and assistance to guests, particularly when it comes to recommending restaurants, and cafes. Not only that, but I can also provide guidance on various places to visit, such as historical landmarks, popular tourist attractions, and parks. We had a wonderful time! Ellen was a great host!! The house was so quaintly decorated and very spacious. Here are some things I was concerned about, but they worked out perfectly: No TV - Even though there was no TV, it was nice because we could relax and talk with each other instead of zoning out in front of the TV. Window AC Units - The days were around 90 degrees, and the AC units cooled the house very nicely. Gravel Road Leading to the House - If you come from the north (off Matton Grove Church Rd), it is paved all the way to the driveway, so no worries. If you come from the south (Gold Hill Rd), Collie Road is gravel for almost a mile. If we ever have another event in the area, we would definitely stay here again. I can't adequately explain how perfect the house was for our family. The yard was very large and great for our dogs. Everything was just perfect!

Awesome cabin.

This cabin and the whole property is an awesome place for a family stay. My grandchildren were all fascinated and had a blast exploring. The cabin itself is extremely cozy with plenty of room and comfort. Will definitely be back.

Holiday Stay

We (family of 6) stayed in this property over Christmas and we had a great time. The girls said it was the best Christmas they ever had. Ellen was amazing! She answered my dumb questions all day, every day! Would stay again!

Log cabin in the country

The log cabin was comfortable but it needed a thorough cleaning and didn’t have any TVs. The property was beautiful and peaceful and flowers were blooming everywhere. We had a good stay and plenty of room, just wish it was cleaned better before we arrived. We found the BEST little diner a few miles away and ate there several times.

Nice getaway halfway between where my son and I live

Enjoyed a nice weekend with my adult son and my dog Lily at this log cabin that was located halfway between where both of us live. It was a bit rainy, but we were able to enjoy some nice walks outside. We enjoyed cooking together, playing games, and watching movies. We especially enjoyed being able to hang out on the porch, where there was a nice breeze.

Like what I would imagine heaven would be like.

It was so peaceful . In the morning all you hear are birds chirping and at night all you hear are the crickets. I love this place. I’ve been there 2 times now and would highly recommend it. Very clean and Ellen the host is amazing. Great getaway if you need a quiet place to go. Jatana Hendrick

Conveniently located quiet rustic stay

Perfectly located property. We attended a wedding at Carolina Country Weddings which was a 15 minute drive away. The cabin had everything we needed. Beautiful setting and wish we had more time to explore. Love that it accommodates dogs. Ellen was very responsive and friendly. Loved spending time with her dog, Murphy, on the porch as well. Would absolutely stay again.

A place of healing

This property really helped us heal our souls a bit. The property was incredibly dog friendly and our little Frenchies loved loved the property. Since it is out in the country there are things like mosquitoes and spiders. If you plan to cook you may want to bring some disposable pans if you want to use the oven and a pitcher if you want to make something like lemonade.

Perfect place to stay with multiple generations

We had a restful stay. Our grandsons thought it was interesting to stay in a log cabin for the 1st time. It was just right for short trail walks. Children were 6,4 and 2 years old. They were excited to see crawfish when they walked along the creek.Beautiful flowers were in bloom. It was a delight to see them. Their Papa enjoyed his morning visits from Murphy the owner's dog. This was so much better than staying at a hotel/motel. Would absolutely stay here again.

Counting on Mercy Book Club Retreat

What a perfect location to slow down and find peace. We spent hours on the porch watching the hummingbirds, hawk and spectacular rain storm. The host was so responsive and helpful. She graciously shared her blueberry bushes and adorable dog. Albemarle was a quick drive for Mass and dinner. We will be back next year to retreat,, explore the trails and fill our cups! Perfectly quiet snd serene

Ellen was the perfect hostess as was Stanley the little terrier who greeted us each morning. We absolutely loved the quietness of the property and all the lovely hummingbirds frequently the feeder on the porch. The property had everything we needed and we wouldn’t hesitate to book the property again. Thank you Ellen for making us feel so welcome!

Thanksgiving 2020

Overall the cabin was a nice getaway, not fancy but met our needs. Plenty of space both within the house and outside to spread out, having a fire pit nearby was nice. Lack of wifi was a bit of a shock to the younger generation but they could still access their devices so they didn't have to go through total withdrawal. The beds a bit firmer than we're used to but that's just our preference.
