The tour begins at Riga Central Market, a UNESCO World Heritage Site housed in five massive former former Zeppelin hangars that have dominated the southern edge of Riga's Old Town since the 1930s. Today, it is the largest market in the Baltic States and one of the largest covered markets in Europe.
Over the next hour, your local guide will lead you through the market's different pavilions, stopping to taste and learn along the way. Sample salted and smoked fish, artisanal hemp pesto, aged dairy products, fresh vegetables, dark rye bread, seasonal specialties, and much more. In total, you will enjoy over 20 tastings, carefully selected to provide an authentic insight into Latvian cuisine and everyday food culture. Your guide will explain the origins of each product and its role in Latvian traditions and daily life.
The second part of the tour takes you into Riga's charming Old Town. As you stroll through its cobbled streets, your guide will introduce you to some of the city's most important landmarks and fascinating stories. After a short walk, you will arrive at our final stop for a traditional tasting lunch in the very heart of Riga's Old Town.
To conclude the experience, you will be introduced to Riga Black Balsam, Latvia's most iconic herbal liqueur, and learn how to say “Cheers!” like a local.
Important: Our meeting point is at the Narvesen kiosk outside Riga Bus Station (Autoosta). Your guide will be waiting for you with a yellow umbrella.

To ensure a personal and enjoyable experience, group sizes are limited to a maximum of 15 participants. For groups of 10 or more, your guide will use a microphone, and each participant will receive an audio receiver, ensuring that everyone can hear clearly without having to crowd around the guide.
