What you can expect

Embark on a nature cruise of the Otago Peninsula, spotting a variety of New Zealand wildlife. Take a guided tour of Penguin Place, a nature reserve for the rare yellow eyed penguin, enjoying convenient, roundtrip transportation from your cruise ship.

Get picked up from your cruise ship and set out on a wildlife cruise of Otago Harbor. With unrivaled views of a diverse range of wildlife, keep your eyes open for the northern royal albatross, in addition to New Zealand fur seals, penguins, dolphins, sea lions, and other marine mammals. Your guide provides commentary on the region's fascinating history and geology.

Afterward, proceed to Penguin Place, a nature reserve for the rare yellow eyed penguin. Your guide leads you by foot through a system of covered trenches into hidden viewing areas, giving you the opportunity to capture close-range photographs of the shy penguins in their living and breeding areas.

At the end of the tour, return to Dunedin by road, traveling along the scenic Otago Peninsula. Choose to be dropped off in Dunedin to enjoy the afternoon exploring the city, or return to your cruise ship.
