Designated as one of Japan’s “100 Exquisite Waters,” the park invites visitors to taste and collect this naturally filtered water straight from bamboo spouts—an experience cherished by locals and travelers alike. As you stroll through the park, you’ll encounter lush moss-covered stones, wooden bridges, vibrant seasonal flowers, and a peaceful pond reflecting the surrounding greenery. An observation deck offers sweeping views of the area with the majestic Mount Yotei as a backdrop, especially stunning during autumn foliage season. The on-site Michi-no-Eki Meisui Plaza offers delicious treats made with the spring water, such as coffee jelly and soft-serve ice cream, and a local restaurant serves regional dishes including soba noodles and grilled Hokkaido lamb.

The area also features walking trails, observation points, and seasonal fireworks displays that light up the sky during the warmer months. Noboribetsu Jigokudani Valley
  • 3h
The name "Noboribetsu" originates from the ancient Ainu word "ヌプルペッ" (Nupurupetsu), which means "white turbid river," a reference to the region’s milky, mineral-rich hot spring waters. One of its most famous sites, Jigokudani—also known as Hell Valley—is the dramatic remains of a volcanic eruption. Here, volcanic gases continuously escape from cracks in the grey-yellow rocky ground, creating an eerie and otherworldly atmosphere. The surrounding landscape is barren and scorched, with no vegetation due to the intense sulfur emissions, giving rise to the name "Hell Valley." The steamy, rumbling terrain offers a powerful visual of nature’s raw geothermal energy and is one of the most iconic sights in Hokkaido.
