What you can expect

Embark on a thrilling lake adventure and take in the sights and sounds of a tropical rainforest. Great for both kids and adults, this tour takes you to Gatun Lake, which was at one point the world's largest man-made lake. Travel along picturesque roads that once connected the Panama Canal's support buildings to nearby towns and military bases before taking to the water.

Upon reaching the lake, board a comfortable boat and pass under a wooden bridge that serves as part of the Transisthmian Railway. Stop at Monkey Island to observe up-close the tropical rainforest that supports the functioning of the Panama Canal. Cruise slowly along the banks of the island and watch for monkeys, sloths, toucans, and various other local wildlife.

Leave Monkey Island and head to the animal rescue center Summit Zoo, where the harpy eagle is the main character, as it is our national bird.
