What you can expect
Beautiful, majestic and teeming with a rich diversity of life, the region’s premier resource for hands-on marine experiences and conservation education.
Seattle Aquarium offers fun and exciting ways to discover more about the amazing Puget Sound and our world’s one big ocean.
Take a dive into Washington's coastal waters. A mammoth, 120,000-gallon exhibit greets you as you take your first steps into the Seattle Aquarium. Filled with hundreds of fish and invertebrates indigenous to the Pacific Northwest’s local waters, it is designed to replicate the seascape around Neah Bay, a richly populated marine environment located at the northwest tip of Washington State. Three times each day, divers take to the water in Window on Washington Waters exhibit. At a breathtaking 20x40 feet, the main window offers an expansive view as the divers interact with the animals inside the exhibit, as well as the eager visitors outside the glass. Thanks to specialized masks, the divers are able to communicate with interpreters on the “dry side,” and answer questions from the audience. Kids especially love a chance to watch and talk to the divers.
Be surrounded by Puget Sound's sea life! Step through a short tunnel and into our one-of-a-kind exhibit: an Underwater Dome with a 360-degree view into a mammoth 400,000-gallon tank filled with hundreds of fascinating Puget Sound fish!
Meet our delightful otters and seals! These exhibits, some of our most popular and action-packed, are home to a fabulous assortment of charming and entertaining marine mammals.
Children will delight at the chance to see, touch and explore the sea life of Puget Sound tide pools. Get ready to get your hands wet. The Life on the Edge exhibit is your chance to get up close and personal with the many fascinating creatures that dwell in the tide pools of Washington State’s outer coast and Puget Sound’s inland sea.
The Seattle Aquarium is a public aquarium located on Pier 59 on Elliott Bay waterfront in Seattle, Washington, USA. A ten-minute walk from Pier 66 Cruise Terminals, there is plenty to see on the Seattle Waterfront.
The aquarium is open daily except for the first Friday in June and Christmas Day. You’ll need about two hours to explore all of the exhibits.
