Description

Scope out breathtaking views, take high-flying rides, and cruise the waters of Hong Kong on this full-day tour to Lantau Island. Ride a ferry like the locals do, enjoy a cable car ride from the island's rugged mountaintop, and savor a tasty vegetarian lunch at a tranquil monastery.

Kick off your day with convenient pickup directly from your hotel. Ride to the waterfront as you chat with your guide about the day's itinerary, and then board a passenger ferry to cruise through the island-dotted South China Sea. When you reach Lantau Island, start your visit by strolling along the golden sands of Cheung Sha's beach and snapping photos of the stilt houses in Tai O, a historic fishing village.

Continue on to Po Lin Monastery for a leg-pumping stair climb to the stunning Tian Tan Buddha statue and a delicious lunch of vegetarian specialties. Afterward, check out the charming streets of Ngong Ping village and take a smooth, skip-the-line cable car over the island's rugged mountain landscapes. When you reach the bottom, climb into comfortable transportation for the scenic return ride to your hotel.

Wonderful tour guide. Pickup was from Kowloon hotel, as there was no pick up from Penta hotel. Started with ferry ride to the island from pier 6, then visited the long beach and then the fisherman village. The buddha statue was visited, even though covered in fog, it was cleared and were able to see the statue. had the chance to view the relic. It was followed by a veg lunch at monastery. One of the best lunch we had at HK. Visited the monastery and then returned back to the city on the 360 degree cable car ride which took close to 25 minutes. Another bus was waiting to drop us back to the city.

The tour guide, Ben, was quite knowledgeable and friendly. The problem was getting to Ben. Took a train to get to check point hotel. Then shuttles on two buses. To ferry. Then finally met Ben. Unfortunately, cable car wax scheduled maintainence so we knew that was not available up front, but no discount or compensatory activity provided
