Your adventure begins with pickup directly from your accommodation in Catania. From there, you'll head south through olive groves and citrus fields toward one of the island’s most historic destinations.
First, explore Archaeological Park of Neapolis. This vast open-air museum is home to some of Sicily’s most important Greek and Roman ruins, including the Greek Theatre, the Roman Amphitheatre, and the mysterious Ear of Dionysius, a cave with extraordinary acoustics.
Next, cross the bridge into Ortigia Island, Syracuse’s enchanting old town. Lose yourself in a maze of narrow alleys, admire the 2,500-year-old Temple of Apollo, and step into Piazza Duomo, where white stone buildings reflect the southern sun.
You’ll then have free time for an Optional Lunch or Gelato in Ortigia on one of Ortigia’s beautiful waterfront promenades. This experience is not included in the ride price, but your driver can recommend local favorites if you’d like to stop.
Wrap up your day with a visit to Castello Maniace. This 13th-century fortress stands at the tip of Ortigia and offers panoramic views over the Ionian Sea, ideal for history lovers and photographers alike.
Please note: Tickets for the Archaeological Park and Castello Maniace are not included in the ride price.
